Position Overview:
As a member of a cross-functional engineering team, you will contribute across the full software delivery lifecycle, spanning application development, systems engineering, and DevOps. This role is designed for a versatile, mid to senior-level technologist who is comfortable working across the stack—from frontend interfaces and backend services to infrastructure, automation, and deployment.
You will partner with internal teams and customers to design, build, deploy, and support scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. This includes contributing to architecture, development, cloud infrastructure, and operational excellence, while continuously improving system reliability and developer productivity.

Essential Duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications, APIs, and supporting systems across cloud and on-prem environments
- Build, deploy, and manage infrastructure and services using modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization, Infrastructure as Code)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality software and system enhancements
- Support application and system lifecycle management including installation, configuration, upgrades, monitoring, and performance optimization
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across software, infrastructure, and networking layers
- Implement automation to improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
- Contribute to architectural decisions and promote best practices in software engineering, security, and system design
- Develop and execute testing strategies (unit, integration, and system testing) to ensure reliability and maintainability
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude) to enhance productivity, code quality, troubleshooting, and documentation
- Provide technical guidance, documentation, and knowledge sharing to team members and stakeholders
- Deliver excellent customer support through issue resolution, training, and ongoing technical consultation
- Continuously evaluate and improve tools, processes, and development workflows
- Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Development & Engineering
- Generally, requires 5+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or DevOps-related roles
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript)
- Experience building and supporting full-stack applications and RESTful APIs
- Understanding of modern software design principles (modularity, scalability, maintainability, performance)
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks (Angular, Vue, or similar) and backend frameworks (Spring Boot, FastAPI, or similar)
Cloud, DevOps & Infrastructure
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and related services (compute, storage, networking, monitoring)
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or similar)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, or similar)
- Understanding of system observability, logging, monitoring, and performance tuning
Systems & Networking
- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
- Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, or similar)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Familiarity with web/application servers and system integration concepts
Data & Integration
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and/or NoSQL solutions
- Understanding of data structures, API integration, and data exchange formats (JSON, XML)
AI & Modern Development Practices
- Experience or strong interest in leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude) to improve coding efficiency, debugging, documentation, and solution design
- Ability to identify opportunities to apply automation and intelligent workflows to enhance development and operational processes

Work Schedule:
Hybrid from the following office location:
- Cedar Rapids, IA
- Lake Saint Louis, MO
- Mandan, ND
Hybrid Schedule: Minimum of working 3 days per week out of an office location and ability to work up to all 5 days a week from an office location.
Required Days from an Office Location: Tuesday and Wednesday – the third required day will be up to the candidate and their supervisor to choose.
