How do I get a staff accountant job in Boston?
Target Boston's densest hiring corridors: the Financial District and Seaport for financial services and professional services firms, and the Longwood Medical Area for healthcare and life sciences employers. A CPA track or active CPA candidacy stands out in this market. Tailoring your resume to industry-specific software like Workday, NetSuite, or Epic gives you a concrete edge with Boston employers in those sectors.
Which companies hire staff accountants in Boston?
Companies currently hiring staff accountants in Boston include NOVOGRADAC & COMPANY, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and UG2, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Boston's mix of major hospital systems, asset managers, universities, and professional services firms means a wide range of employer types are consistently in the market for accounting talent.
Are there remote staff accountant jobs in Boston?
Yes, though staff accountant roles lean more on-site than fully remote given close-the-books cycles and system access requirements. About 86% of staff accountant openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with hybrid schedules most common at larger financial services and technology firms in the Seaport and Back Bay. General ledger and reconciliation-heavy work is where remote flexibility tends to appear most.
How can I get a staff accountant job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is targeting accounting coordinator or junior accountant roles at the city's large hospital systems and university finance departments, which run structured onboarding and absorb entry-level candidates regularly. Boston's deep professional services sector also hires accounting associates at the staff level. An active CPA candidacy and familiarity with any major ERP system, even from coursework or internships, moves your application past the screening stage.
