Who's Hiring

Staff Accountant Jobs in St. Louis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a staff accountant job in St. Louis?
The most direct path in St. Louis is targeting the city's dominant hiring sectors: healthcare networks, regional banks and credit unions, insurance carriers, and mid-size manufacturers based in the metro. Clayton and Creve Coeur hold a dense concentration of corporate accounting teams. A CPA or active CPA candidacy stands out with most employers here, and experience with ERP systems commonly used in healthcare or manufacturing gives candidates a real edge over the field.
Which companies hire staff accountants in St. Louis?
Companies currently hiring staff accountants in St. Louis include NOVOGRADAC & COMPANY, HLK, and New + Found, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. St. Louis draws from a mix of large regional employers, national corporations with headquarters or major operations in the metro, and a steady base of mid-size professional services and manufacturing firms.
Are there remote staff accountant jobs in St. Louis?
Yes, though availability depends on the role: transactional and month-end close positions are mostly on-site, while financial reporting and analysis work leans more remote-friendly. About 67% of staff accountant openings tied to St. Louis are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common among professional services firms and corporate shared-service centers in the Clayton and Chesterfield corridors.
How can I get a staff accountant job in St. Louis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in St. Louis is targeting accounts payable or accounts receivable roles at the city's large healthcare systems or regional manufacturers, which routinely hire accounting associates and promote from within. Internship pipelines through Saint Louis University, Washington University, and University of Missouri-St. Louis feed directly into local firms. Proficiency in Excel and exposure to any major accounting software make a meaningful difference when competing for junior openings.
