You will apply strong software engineering fundamentals to assemble, integrate, and operationalize AI capabilities into real production systems being accountable for Full-Stack solutions.
The goal of this role is to significantly shorten development and feedback cycles by automating routine engineering work, augmenting human decision-making, and embedding intelligence directly into our development workflows and the applications we deliver!
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable full stack applications and platform services. Own software solutions end-to-end, including system design, architecture, implementation, testing, observability, deployment, and lifecycle support.
- Develop and implement custom AI agents to support workflow automation, decision support, summarization, and multi-step reasoning capabilities.
- Integrate AI services, large language models (LLMs), embeddings, search technologies, and external tools through secure and scalable APIs.
- Build and maintain MCP-based integrations to enable structured communication between AI models, tools, and business systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
- Apply AI-assisted development practices while ensuring code quality, architectural integrity, security, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
- Harden AI components for 24x7 critical physical manufacturing systems with attention to reliability and resiliency, latency and performance, security, permissions, and data boundaries, and observability and maintainability.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience developing production grade full stack or backend software applications, including API design, service integration, and data persistence.
- Hands on experience with cloud-native technologies, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Kubernetes based deployments.
- Experience working with both relational and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and storage architecture design.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying AI-enabled applications, including custom AI agents and RAG-based systems.
- Demonstrated experience with prompt engineering and Vibe Coding Prototypes, AI tool integration, and evaluating AI system reliability, security, and failure modes.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience building enterprise-scale distributed applications in cloud environments.
- Experience building and integrating Model Context Protocol (MCP) to enable: Structured context sharing between models, tools, and agents; Tool and capability exposure to LLM-based agents; Interoperability across AI components without hard-coded integrations.
- Proficiency with modern technology stacks such as C#, ASP.NET, Angular, SQL, NoSQL, and Kubernetes.
- Experience developing AI agent skills, tool invocation frameworks, and multi-agent workflow solutions.
- Strong understanding of prompt engineering, context window management, chain-of-thought design, and AI workflow optimization.
- Experience architecting highly available, critical systems with focus on performance, resiliency, observability, and security.
- Track record of leading architecture discussions, conducting code reviews, and establishing engineering standards and guidelines.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding STEM OPT Authorization as a Senior Full Stack Engineer
Verify your CIP code before applying
Your STEM OPT extension depends on your degree's Classification of Instructional Programs code, not just the degree title. Check your I-20 and confirm your program appears on SEVP's STEM Designated Degree Program list before targeting any roles.
Filter roles by E-Verify status upfront
Employers must be enrolled in E-Verify to hire STEM OPT students. Ask recruiters to confirm enrollment before investing time in interviews. You can also cross-check employer status through the E-Verify employer search tool directly.
Align your I-983 training plan to engineering milestones
Senior Full Stack Engineer roles require a detailed I-983 that maps your learning goals to specific technical deliverables, not vague job duties. Draft it around measurable outcomes like shipping production features, leading code reviews, or owning system architecture decisions.
Use the OFLC Wage Search to benchmark offers
Before accepting an offer, look up the prevailing wage for Full Stack Engineer roles in your metro area using the OFLC Wage Search. Your compensation must meet the STEM OPT training plan standard, and underpayment relative to peers can flag compliance issues at renewal.
Target employers with prior STEM OPT training history
Use Migrate Mate to find Senior Full Stack Engineer roles at companies that have previously sponsored STEM OPT students. Employers already familiar with I-983 obligations and E-Verify workflows close offers faster and make fewer compliance errors during onboarding.
Time your application to protect cap-gap coverage
If you're transitioning from STEM OPT to H-1B visa, your work authorization continues under cap-gap rules only if your H-1B petition is filed before your OPT EAD expires. Confirm your employer can meet USCIS filing deadlines before accepting an offer contingent on H-1B visa sponsorship.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior Full Stack Engineer role qualify for the STEM OPT extension?
Yes, if your degree is in a STEM-designated field such as computer science, information systems, or software engineering, and the role involves applying that technical knowledge directly. The position must appear on your I-983 training plan as directly related to your degree's CIP code. Your DSO confirms eligibility based on the SEVP STEM Designated Degree Program list, not the job title alone.
What E-Verify obligations does my employer have for STEM OPT?
Your employer must be actively enrolled in E-Verify before you begin working on a STEM OPT extension. Enrollment isn't retroactive, so if an employer signs up after your start date, your extension is invalid for that period. Confirm enrollment status before accepting an offer by asking HR directly or checking through E-Verify's employer search. USCIS treats this requirement as non-negotiable.
What goes into an I-983 training plan for a Senior Full Stack Engineer?
Your I-983 must describe specific learning objectives tied to your STEM degree, not just your job duties. For a Senior Full Stack Engineer, that means documenting goals like designing scalable APIs, leading architecture reviews, or mastering a specific technology stack. Goals must be measurable, and your employer's authorized representative signs the plan. Your DSO submits it to SEVP before your extension start date.
How does cap-gap work if my employer files an H-1B petition during my STEM OPT?
If your employer files a timely H-1B petition before your STEM OPT EAD expires, cap-gap rules automatically extend your work authorization through September 30 of that fiscal year, or until USCIS adjudicates the petition, whichever comes first. Your status and employment authorization both continue without interruption. USCIS provides cap-gap guidance, and your DSO can issue a new I-20 reflecting the extension.
Where can I find Senior Full Stack Engineer jobs that accept STEM OPT students?
Migrate Mate lets you search Senior Full Stack Engineer roles filtered for employers with documented STEM OPT and E-Verify experience. Searching broadly without filtering for STEM OPT-aware employers wastes time, since many companies aren't set up to manage I-983 obligations. Targeting employers already familiar with the training plan process reduces the risk of a delayed start or compliance gap.
