ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What You'll Do:
- Assist with field surveys, including boundary, topographic, and construction staking
- Operate survey instruments such as GPS, total stations, and data collectors
- Support office staff with data processing, mapping, and preparation of survey deliverables
- Conduct research of deeds, plats, and public records for survey projects
- Maintain survey equipment and follow established safety procedures
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field crews
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
- Basic understanding of land surveying principles and practices
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in both field and office environments

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or in progress)

Both you and a supervisor with signatory authority must sign it, and you're required to submit updated evaluations every six months and at the end of the training period.
Does my surveying employer need to be enrolled in E-Verify?
Yes. E-Verify enrollment is a hard requirement for any employer who wants to hire you on STEM OPT. If your employer files an H-1B petition before your STEM OPT EAD expires and USCIS selects it in the lottery, cap-gap automatically extends your work authorization through September 30 of that fiscal year. You can continue working as a surveyor under the same employer without interruption. USCIS updates I-20 extensions for cap-gap through your DSO, so keep your DSO informed of your petition status as soon as filing is confirmed.
