We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.
About the Role:
As a Manager of Systems Test Engineering at Mytra, you will be responsible for leading a team of systems test engineers in developing and executing systems validation and verification. This is a key technical leadership role responsible for driving innovation in validation methodologies for the Mytra robotic system, and mentoring a highly skilled test engineering team. You will work in collaboration with Product Design Engineering, Supplier Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Software and Controls Engineering to ensure that Mytra's products can withstand the demands of real-world warehouse environments.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a team of test engineers who develop equipment and fixtures for testing Mytra’s products and components
- Drive the professional development of individual team members through mentoring and training
- Establish group and individual objectives, priorities, and metrics to ensure long-term success
- Manage and allocate team resources across multiple projects
- Provide technical leadership for the development of production equipment, test fixtures, and process tools
- Manage requirements traceability to ensure equipment meets defined specifications
- Collaborate with design engineers, system engineers, manufacturing engineers, and software/controls engineers to ensure that equipment meets requirements
Qualifications
- BS or graduate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Control Systems Engineering, or similar field. MS preferred.
- Successful experience leading teams developing test and process equipment
- Extensive engineering experience with complex electro-mechanical equipment
- Prior responsibility for validation of processes, equipment, and products
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally across a range of technical disciplines with a broad range of stakeholders, including management, peers, customers, and suppliers
- Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills with the ability to relate to different people in cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with Python or C++ for analyzing datasets related to specification definition, risk assessment, and reliability analysis, as well as for writing scripts to execute commands on electro-mechanical systems
A Final Note:
You’re encouraged to apply even if you can’t take on every example project in its totality. We work closely and collaboratively at Mytra - No one takes on projects alone. We seek people who are eager to work together, learn new things, and bring unique perspectives.
Benefits Include:
- Competitive compensation and equity grants at a high-growth company backed by top-tier VCs
- Fully subsidized health coverage, including medical (baseline plans), dental, and vision for employees and dependents

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding STEM OPT Authorization as a Test Engineering Manager
Verify your CIP code matches the role
Pull your degree's Classification of Instructional Programs code from your DSO and cross-reference it against the Test Engineering Manager position using O*NET. A mismatch between your credential and the role's STEM designation disqualifies the extension before you even apply.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting offers
Ask your recruiter for the company's E-Verify Company ID or search the E-Verify employer search tool directly. An employer who isn't enrolled cannot legally employ you on STEM OPT, so verify enrollment before negotiating terms, not after.
Build your I-983 training plan around measurable outcomes
Your I-983 must show how the Test Engineering Manager role provides practical training aligned to your STEM degree. Document specific learning objectives tied to test strategy, quality systems, or engineering leadership rather than generic job duties, which USCIS scrutinizes closely.
Target employers with active PERM and LCA filing history
Companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for engineering manager roles are already set up to sponsor and often have dedicated HR processes for work-authorized candidates. Use Migrate Mate to filter Test Engineering Manager openings by verified employer filing history so you're not starting from scratch.
Time your STEM OPT application to avoid authorization gaps
File your STEM OPT extension at least 90 days before your initial OPT EAD expires. USCIS grants a 180-day automatic extension while the application is pending, but only if you file on time and your I-20 reflects the correct STEM designation.
Address the managerial title directly in sponsorship conversations
Some employers hesitate to place a STEM OPT candidate in a manager-level role because they assume it signals H-1B dependency too early. Lead with your engineering credentials and clarify that your 24-month extension gives the company a full hiring runway before any further sponsorship decision is required.

Find Test Engineering Manager JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does a Test Engineering Manager role qualify for the STEM OPT extension?
Yes, if your degree falls under a qualifying STEM CIP code and the role directly applies that technical training. Test Engineering Manager positions typically draw on electrical, computer, or systems engineering backgrounds, all of which appear on the STEM Designated Degree Program List. Your DSO confirms eligibility when endorsing your I-20 for the extension, so bring the job description to that conversation.
What E-Verify requirement applies to my STEM OPT employer?
Every employer who hires you on STEM OPT must be enrolled in E-Verify at the worksite where you'll actually work, not just at corporate headquarters. If you're placed at a client site through a staffing arrangement, that end-client location must also be enrolled. You can confirm enrollment through the E-Verify employer search before signing an offer letter.
What should my I-983 training plan include for a Test Engineering Manager position?
Your I-983 must connect your day-to-day responsibilities to your STEM degree with specific, measurable learning objectives. For a Test Engineering Manager, that means detailing how you'll develop test frameworks, lead quality assurance teams, or apply systems engineering principles, not just listing your reporting structure. USCIS expects the plan to demonstrate genuine practical training, and your employer's authorized representative must co-sign it.
How does cap-gap protection apply if my H-1B is selected while I'm working as a Test Engineering Manager?
If your employer files an H-1B petition on your behalf before your OPT EAD expires and USCIS selects it in the lottery, cap-gap protection automatically extends your work authorization through September 30 of that year. You can continue working as a Test Engineering Manager during that period without interruption. Your DSO issues an updated I-20 reflecting the cap-gap extension, which you carry with your existing EAD as proof of continued authorization.
Where can I find Test Engineering Manager jobs where the employer already understands STEM OPT requirements?
Migrate Mate lists Test Engineering Manager openings filtered for employers with verified E-Verify enrollment and sponsorship filing history, so you're not spending time educating recruiters about work authorization basics. Searching there narrows your list to companies that have already navigated the process for STEM OPT candidates, which makes the offer and onboarding conversation significantly more straightforward.
