Position Summary
The Strategic Account Engineer serves as the technical front end of the project development process for Stratus Systems.
This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and advancing project opportunities across semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, industrial, and mission-critical facilities. The successful candidate will build relationships with facility owners, facilities engineers, operations leaders, construction managers, project teams, and other key stakeholders while identifying capital projects, facility upgrades, process improvements, utility expansions, and infrastructure needs.
The Strategic Account Engineer serves as a technical advisor during the early stages of project development. This individual must possess sufficient engineering, construction, and facility knowledge to independently evaluate facility needs, understand mechanical and process utility systems, identify project opportunities, and help define project scope before transitioning opportunities to Stratus project management and operations teams.
The ideal candidate is comfortable walking into a facility independently, understanding how the plant operates, identifying areas where Stratus can provide value, and developing relationships that lead to future project opportunities. This individual can engage facility owners, engineers, and operations teams as a technical peer while recognizing opportunities involving process utilities, facility infrastructure, and mechanical systems commonly found in advanced manufacturing and industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with facility owners, engineers, operations teams, project managers, construction managers, and other key decision-makers.
- Identify and develop opportunities involving capital projects, facility upgrades, process improvements, utility expansions, and mechanical infrastructure.
- Conduct site walks, facility assessments, and technical discussions to understand customer operations, constraints, and plans.
- Serve as a technical resource during early project development, helping define scope and engage estimating, project management, and operations teams.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support budgeting, conceptual planning, and pursuit strategy.
- Track opportunities through the development process and transition qualified projects to execution teams.
- Represent Stratus Systems at customer meetings, industry events, and networking functions to support account growth and market development.
- Maintain awareness of customer expansion plans, operational challenges, and upcoming capital investments.

- Industrial Process Utilities
Required Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, facilities, construction, project management, technical consulting, or project development roles supporting semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, process utilities, facility infrastructure, or industrial operations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, facility managers, operations personnel, construction professionals, and executive stakeholders.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Strong relationship-building and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently in customer-facing environments.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the DFW region and surrounding markets.
