Territory Sales Representative Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a territory sales representative in Texas?
Most territory sales representative roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree plus demonstrated sales experience, though no state-issued license is required for the role itself. Candidates typically move into territory roles from inside sales, retail, or industry-specific positions such as medical device or industrial distribution. Completing manufacturer or distributor sales certification programs, which many large Texas employers offer internally, strengthens an application considerably alongside a clean driving record.
How much do territory sales representatives make in Texas?
Territory sales representatives in Texas earn a median of about $65,970 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $36,380 for the lowest 10% to over $137,020 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire territory sales representatives in Texas?
Employers hiring territory sales representatives in Texas right now include Herc Rentals, Ernest, and First Help Financial, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's scale across healthcare, energy, food service distribution, and industrial manufacturing means a wide variety of company types post these roles regularly throughout the year.
Which Texas cities have the most territory sales representative jobs?
Dallas, Austin, and Houston hold the most territory sales representative openings in Texas. Houston's dominance in energy, petrochemical distribution, and medical center employment drives the largest share of postings, while Dallas-Fort Worth's concentration of corporate headquarters and technology firms and San Antonio's growing healthcare and military-adjacent industries account for strong listing volumes in those metros.
Are there remote territory sales representative jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're limited. Territory sales is by nature a field-based role requiring in-person customer visits, so fully remote positions are uncommon. About 20% of territory sales representative openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to be inside-territory or account management hybrid roles where travel is periodic rather than daily.
How can I get hired as a territory sales representative in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales or sales development role at a Texas-based distributor or manufacturer, then transitioning to a territory position after demonstrating quota attainment. Companies like Sysco, Fastenal, and Cardinal Health run structured sales associate programs at their Texas locations that are explicitly designed for candidates without field experience. Completing a manufacturer's product certification or a recognized sales methodology course gives early-career applicants a concrete edge in screening.
Where can I find and apply to territory sales representative jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to territory sales representative jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries and metros. Search the listings, find roles that match your experience and target territory, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
