Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or communications, followed by progressive roles in digital marketing, typically moving from coordinator to manager to director. Texas's dense tech and retail sectors in Austin and Dallas offer strong upward paths, and earning platform certifications from Google, HubSpot, or Meta strengthens a candidacy considerably.
How much do digital marketing directors make in Texas?
Digital marketing directors in Texas earn a median of about $147,880 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $81,820 for the lowest 10% to over $259,200 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire digital marketing directors in Texas?

Dallas leads because of its dense concentration of corporate headquarters and financial services firms, Austin's tech sector drives steady demand, and Houston's energy, healthcare, and retail industries sustain a strong base of senior marketing roles across the metro.
