Seo Specialist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a seo specialist in Texas?
There is no state-issued license required to work as an seo specialist in Texas. Most employers look for a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, though a strong portfolio demonstrating real results can substitute for formal education. Industry certifications such as Google Analytics certification or HubSpot's SEO certification are widely recognized by Texas employers and help candidates stand out in a competitive applicant pool.
How much do seo specialists make in Texas?
Seo specialists in Texas earn a median of about $72,520 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $37,640 for the lowest 10% to over $135,710 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire seo specialists in Texas?
Employers hiring seo specialists in Texas right now include MEDS, VVater, and SerpApi, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's large base of retail, technology, and healthcare brands means in-house seo roles are common alongside agency positions serving regional and national clients.
Which Texas cities have the most seo specialist jobs?
Austin, Houston, and Texas have the most seo specialist openings in Texas. Austin's dense concentration of technology and e-commerce companies drives heavy demand there, while Dallas and Houston reflect the sheer scale of their corporate headquarter ecosystems, which include major retail chains, energy companies, and regional media groups that all maintain active digital marketing functions.
Are there remote seo specialist jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 80% of seo specialist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the work. Technical SEO audits, keyword research, and performance reporting are among the functions most commonly performed fully remote, making this one of the more location-flexible digital marketing roles available in the state.
How can I get hired as a seo specialist in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an associate or coordinator role at a Texas digital marketing agency, where junior hires learn across multiple client accounts. Agencies in Austin and Dallas routinely hire candidates without direct experience if they bring a portfolio of personal projects, freelance work, or coursework demonstrating results. A Google Analytics certification or completing HubSpot's free SEO course adds measurable credibility, and lateral moves from content writing or paid search coordinator roles are a common internal path at larger Texas brands.
Where can I find and apply to seo specialist jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to seo specialist jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your experience level and location preference and apply directly to the employer through each listing.
