Strategic Finance Analyst Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategic finance analyst in Rhode Island?
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics is the standard starting point for strategic finance analyst roles in Rhode Island. No state-issued license is required for the role itself, but many Rhode Island employers in insurance and healthcare prefer candidates who hold or are pursuing a CFA or CPA. Gaining experience in FP&A, corporate budgeting, or financial modeling through internships at Providence-based financial services or healthcare organizations strengthens your candidacy considerably.
How much do strategic finance analysts make in Rhode Island?
Strategic finance analysts in Rhode Island earn a median of about $100,550 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $63,050 for the lowest 10% to over $175,270 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire strategic finance analysts in Rhode Island?
Rhode Island strategic finance analyst roles are posted by CVS Health, Fidelity Investments, and Citizens and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of insurance carriers, defense contractors, and large health systems means demand is spread across several well-established industries rather than a single sector.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most strategic finance analyst jobs?
Providence, Rhode Island, and Woonsocket account for the largest share of strategic finance analyst openings in Rhode Island. Providence leads because it is home to the state's major corporate headquarters, hospital systems, and financial institutions, while Warwick and East Providence attract roles tied to insurance carriers and defense-sector employers with significant Rhode Island footprints.
Are there remote strategic finance analyst jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and more than most fields, because strategic finance analyst work is desk-based and output-driven. About 79% of strategic finance analyst openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader flexibility across finance functions. The most remote-compatible tasks include financial modeling, variance analysis, and long-range forecasting, while roles requiring regular executive presentations tend to stay hybrid or on-site.
How can I get hired as a strategic finance analyst in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a financial analyst or junior FP&A role at one of Rhode Island's large employers in insurance, healthcare, or defense, where rotational or associate analyst programs are common. Lifespan and Care New England both hire entry-level finance analysts, and Textron runs structured associate programs in Providence. A strong Excel modeling portfolio and progress toward a CFA or CPA credential give candidates without direct strategic finance experience a clear competitive edge.
Where can I find and apply to strategic finance analyst jobs in Rhode Island?
You can find and apply to strategic finance analyst jobs in Rhode Island on Migrate Mate, which lists current Rhode Island openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your background and interests, and apply directly to each employer through the listing.
