Corporate Financial Analyst Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a corporate financial analyst in Rhode Island?
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics is the standard starting point for corporate financial analyst roles in Rhode Island. The role does not require a state-issued license, but employers across Providence's financial services and healthcare sectors strongly favor candidates who hold or are pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst designation issued by the CFA Institute. Gaining experience in FP&A or accounting at a Rhode Island firm and building Excel and ERP modeling skills accelerates the path considerably.
How much do corporate financial analysts make in Rhode Island?
Corporate financial analysts in Rhode Island earn a median of about $100,550 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $63,050 for the lowest 10% to over $175,270 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire corporate financial analysts in Rhode Island?
Rhode Island corporate financial analyst roles are posted by Epic, Jobot, and Gilbane and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of mutual insurance carriers, defense manufacturers, and large hospital networks means demand is distributed across several industries rather than being limited to traditional financial firms.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most corporate financial analyst jobs?
Providence, Smithfield, and Warren account for the most corporate financial analyst openings in Rhode Island. Providence leads because it is home to the state's largest financial services companies, hospital systems, and corporate headquarters, while Cranston and Warwick attract openings from the manufacturing and insurance employers that have long-standing operations in those communities.
Are there remote corporate financial analyst jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 20% of corporate financial analyst openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and data-driven nature of the work. Financial planning and analysis, reporting, and modeling tasks are the functions most commonly offered on a remote or hybrid basis by Rhode Island employers.
How can I get hired as a corporate financial analyst in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a financial analyst associate or junior FP&A role at one of Rhode Island's large hospital networks or insurance carriers, such as Lifespan, Care New England, or Amica Mutual, which regularly hire candidates with strong academic backgrounds and limited professional history. Lateral moves from staff accountant or budget coordinator positions are also common. Completing even a few CFA Institute program levels and building a portfolio of financial models significantly strengthens an early-career application in the Rhode Island market.
Where can I find and apply to corporate financial analyst jobs in Rhode Island?
You can find and apply to corporate financial analyst jobs in Rhode Island on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Providence, Cranston, Warwick, and other Rhode Island locations. Search the roles that match your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
