We are seeking a Sr. Manager Market Pricing to provide functional leadership and strategic oversight for market pricing across our distributor network. This role is responsible for the design, governance, and execution of pricing strategies that drive profitability, market competitiveness, and long-term growth. The Market Pricing Manager will own distributor pricing structures, lead pricing strategy for new product introductions, manage price increase planning and execution, and ensure robust price tracking and reporting. This position partners closely with Sales, Product Management, Finance, and Leadership, and serves as the primary pricing authority for the business.
This role is ideal for a pricing leader who combines strategic thinking with strong execution, governance, and cross-functional influence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Pricing Strategy & Governance:
- Own and oversee the distributor pricing structure, including list price architecture, discount frameworks, and pricing policies.
- Establish pricing governance standards to ensure consistency, compliance, and effective execution across channels.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for pricing decisions, escalation, and approvals.
New Product Introductions (NPI):
- Lead pricing strategy for new product launches in partnership with Product Management and Sales.
- Develop price positioning, margin targets, and launch price recommendations aligned with product value and market dynamics.
- Ensure pricing readiness and alignment prior to launch execution.
Price Increase Strategy:
- Develop and execute comprehensive price increase strategies, including timing, sizing, segmentation, and customer impact analysis.
- Partner with Sales, Finance, and Operations to align pricing actions with cost changes, inflation, and business objectives.
- Support communication strategies and tools to enable effective field execution of price actions.
Price Tracking, Reporting & Insights:
- Oversee ongoing price performance tracking, margin reporting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure availability of timely, accurate pricing insights for leadership and commercial teams.
- Identify pricing risks and opportunities and proactively recommend corrective actions.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Act as a trusted pricing advisor to Sales leadership, Product Management, and Finance.
- Translate market and cost dynamics into actionable pricing strategies.
- Influence decision-making through clear communication, data-driven insights, and strong business acumen.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Provide functional oversight and mentorship to pricing analysts.
- Define analytical priorities, review outputs, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Continuously improve pricing processes, tools, and capabilities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in pricing, finance, or commercial strategy, with demonstrated ownership of pricing strategy and execution.
- Proven experience managing distributor or channel-based pricing models.
- Strong understanding of pricing mechanics, margin management, and commercial trade-offs.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.
PREFERRED
- Master’s degree or MBA.
- Experience leading pricing for new product introductions and price increase initiatives.
- Familiarity with HVAC or industrial distribution markets.
- Experience improving pricing governance, processes, or systems at scale.
