Supplier Quality Engineer Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a supplier quality engineer in Arizona?
Most Arizona employers require a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or electrical engineering as the foundation. Supplier quality engineering in Arizona is not a state-licensed profession, so there is no Arizona-specific exam or registration required. Earning a Certified Quality Engineer credential through the American Society for Quality strengthens candidacy considerably, particularly for roles in Arizona's aerospace and defense suppliers, where quality certifications carry real weight in hiring decisions.
How much do supplier quality engineers make in Arizona?
Supplier quality engineers in Arizona earn a median of about $108,280 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $77,950 for the lowest 10% to over $170,800 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire supplier quality engineers in Arizona?
Employers hiring supplier quality engineers in Arizona right now include ASM, KBR, and Corning, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Arizona's concentration of aerospace prime contractors, semiconductor fabs, and medical device manufacturers means demand is spread across both large defense primes and their regional supply chain partners.
Which Arizona cities have the most supplier quality engineer jobs?
Phoenix, Mesa, and Tempe are the Arizona cities with the most supplier quality engineer openings. Phoenix dominates due to its dense cluster of aerospace and defense manufacturers, semiconductor plants, and medical device companies, while Tucson reflects demand from defense contractors and optics manufacturers, and Chandler draws openings from its established semiconductor and electronics manufacturing base.
Are there remote supplier quality engineer jobs in Arizona?
Yes, but they're rare. Supplier quality engineering is a fundamentally hands-on discipline requiring on-site supplier audits, incoming inspection oversight, and shop-floor problem solving, which limits remote flexibility. About 60% of supplier quality engineer openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to concentrate on documentation-heavy tasks such as quality management system reviews, supplier portal administration, and corrective action report coordination.
How can I get hired as a supplier quality engineer in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a quality technician or incoming inspection technician role at an Arizona manufacturer, which provides direct exposure to supplier documentation and audit processes. Large Arizona aerospace and defense employers such as Raytheon Technologies and Honeywell run new-graduate rotational and associate engineering programs that include quality functions. Earning an American Society for Quality Certified Quality Technician credential before applying, and building familiarity with AS9100 documentation through coursework or community college manufacturing programs in the Phoenix metro, gives entry-level candidates a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to supplier quality engineer jobs in Arizona?
You can find and apply to supplier quality engineer jobs in Arizona on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arizona openings across aerospace, semiconductor, and medical device employers. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly to each one.
