Supplier Quality Engineer Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a supplier quality engineer in Texas?
Most supplier quality engineer roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering. Texas does not issue a state license specific to this role, so hiring is driven by certifications such as the ASQ Certified Quality Engineer credential, which is recognized widely across Texas aerospace, defense, and manufacturing employers. Candidates who build hands-on experience with PPAP, supplier audits, and quality management systems through internships or quality technician roles move into engineer positions most reliably.
How much do supplier quality engineers make in Texas?
Supplier quality engineers in Texas earn a median of about $104,560 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $67,490 for the lowest 10% to over $168,670 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire supplier quality engineers in Texas?
Employers hiring supplier quality engineers in Texas right now include Rosendin Electric, Applied Materials, and NVIDIA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of aerospace primes, defense contractors, and energy equipment manufacturers means supplier quality demand stays consistent across economic cycles, with large supply chains requiring dedicated quality oversight.
Which Texas cities have the most supplier quality engineer jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Coppell have the most supplier quality engineer openings in Texas. Houston's energy equipment and industrial manufacturing base anchors demand there, while Dallas-Fort Worth draws heavily from aerospace, defense, and automotive suppliers clustered around its major industrial corridors, and Austin's growth in semiconductor and advanced electronics manufacturing has built a newer but fast-growing supplier quality market.
Are there remote supplier quality engineer jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Supplier quality engineering is a fundamentally on-site role because it requires physical audits at supplier facilities, hands-on inspection of parts, and direct collaboration on production lines. About 0% of supplier quality engineer openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions typically cover documentation review, supplier data analysis, and corrective action coordination rather than audit and inspection duties.
How can I get hired as a supplier quality engineer in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a quality technician or quality inspector role at a Texas manufacturer, which builds the hands-on PPAP, inspection, and documentation experience that hiring managers look for. Large aerospace and defense employers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and Houston energy equipment manufacturers regularly bring on quality associates and co-op students through university partnerships with Texas A&M, UT Austin, and the University of Houston. Earning the ASQ Certified Quality Technician credential before applying for engineer-level roles gives candidates a concrete edge over others without direct experience.
Where can I find and apply to supplier quality engineer jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to supplier quality engineer jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, and other markets. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly to each employer through the listing.
