How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:
The Certified Surgical Technologist supports perioperative care, maintains sterile technique, assists surgical teams, and ensures quality patient outcomes.
The Certified Surgical Technologist
- Participates in the delivery of individualized peri-operative registered nursing care under the supervision and guidance of a licensed physician or a registered professional nurse. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to assure quality patient care.
- Basic knowledge of instrumentations.
- Establish/Maintain sterile field and assure team maintains sterile environment.
- Demonstrates correct and safe instrumentation passing.
- Participants in surgical counts (sponge, needle and instruments), per policy.
- Adheres to Policy and Procedures, all regulatory standards and Patient Safety Goals.
- Participates in the nursing process for patients of all ages served.
- Participates in unit educational activities.
What We Require:
Education: MS or PhD in a biomedical or health discipline or equivalent 12 years experience required.
Experience: 1-3 years' experience in grant writing, manuscript preparation, or technical writing required. Advanced computer skills with respect to word processing, templates, table/figure creation, literature searches and document management is highly desired. Healthcare or opioid addition research experience is also desired.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: None required. Life Support: None required.
