ABOUT THE ROLE
A growing engineering and surveying firm recognized as one of The Daily Record’s Best Companies to Work For in Maryland in 2023, 2024, and 2025 is seeking a Maryland Licensed Professional Land Surveyor to join its team. This organization is known for fostering professional development, mentorship, collaboration, and long-term career growth while supporting projects throughout the Baltimore-Washington region. The firm provides multidisciplinary engineering and surveying services and values a team-oriented environment where employees are encouraged to expand their technical expertise through cross-functional collaboration and hands-on project experience.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and oversee land surveying projects from planning through completion.
- Lead and coordinate field survey crews and office technicians.
- Review projects for quality assurance and quality control compliance.
- Prepare boundary surveys, topographic surveys, plats, and legal descriptions.
- Perform construction stakeout calculations and cut sheet preparation.
- Conduct deed and property research across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support project scheduling, client communication, and contract administration.
- Utilize modern survey technology, including 3D scanning equipment and related software.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Maryland Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional land surveying experience.
- Additional licenses in neighboring states or Washington, DC preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience with survey field equipment and field operations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D required.
- Familiarity with advanced survey technologies and data collection methods.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with MicroStation is a plus.
- Knowledge of MSHA survey procedures and project delivery preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required.
