Tax Associate Jobs in Irvine: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a tax associate job in Irvine?
Irvine's strongest hiring comes from public accounting firms, corporate tax departments at technology and life sciences companies, and financial services firms clustered in the Irvine Business Complex and Spectrum Center area. Candidates with CPA exam progress, experience in federal and California state tax compliance, and familiarity with corporate or partnership returns have a clear edge. Networking through local accounting society chapters and targeting the Irvine branch offices of regional and national firms rounds out a competitive approach.
Which companies hire tax associates in Irvine?
Irvine tax associate roles are posted by RSM, H&R Block, and KBF ADVISORY and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market is shaped by a mix of Big Four and regional firm offices, in-house tax teams at publicly traded companies, and specialty tax advisory firms that have established Irvine as a primary Southern California base.
Are there remote tax associate jobs in Irvine?
Yes, though availability depends on the role type. Tax compliance and review work can often be done remotely, while client-facing advisory and audit-support positions typically require on-site presence. About 50% of tax associate openings tied to Irvine are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid schedules being more common at the larger corporate and professional services employers concentrated along the Irvine Spectrum corridor.
How can I get a tax associate job in Irvine with little or no experience?
The most direct entry path in Irvine is through an internship or staff-level role at one of the regional accounting firms that maintain full-service offices in the city, many of which actively recruit from nearby UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton. Targeting roles titled tax staff, tax intern, or junior tax analyst at mid-size firms in the Irvine Business Complex opens the door, and having passed at least one section of the CPA exam meaningfully separates entry-level candidates in this market.
Which industries hire the most tax associates in Irvine?
Most tax associate openings in Irvine sit in Accounting & Auditing, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Irvine's role as a headquarters hub for technology, life sciences, and financial services companies means demand for in-house corporate tax talent runs consistently alongside the public accounting firms that service those same industries locally.
