ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Starbucks payroll tax analyst, you will:
- Enjoy working on collaborative team and have a clear ability to work on process efficiencies and drive the business forward, while also completing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tax tasks assigned to the tax team, including tax payment requests, tax returns, and tax reporting for over 280K+ partners in all 50 states and 11 Provinces in Canada.
- Analyze and research data – You will be responsible to collect data for tax authorities requested during tax controversies including inquiries, audits and appeals to assist with abatements in a timely and organized manner. You will also run and analyze system audits to ensure data integrity.
- Support tax projects and testing – You will be responsible to assist with the planning and implementation of tax planning projects, while also assisting with some system testing.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
We’d love to hear from people with:
- Multi-state and provincial payroll tax experience, including payment, reconciling, and filing, 2 years minimum
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to convey complicated information in a logical manner
- Experience with SAP ECP, including jurisdiction mapping, rule parameters, and validations

If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
