SUMMARY
Work with faculty and school districts to promote and foster partnerships for student teaching clinical placements and assist students with completing student teaching requirements. The selected candidate will coordinate and provide instruction for student teaching courses. The selected candidate must possess the ability to provide appropriate leadership to accomplish department and college goals in regard to student teaching clinical placements and partnerships with schools, commitment to promoting and integrating competencies in educational environments, and the ability to work in participatory and collaborative ways and to engage in deliberative problem-solving to make sound decisions. The selected candidate must be comfortable to engage in constructive conflict management and handle confidential information, have familiarity with schools and districts in the Murray State service region and surrounding counties, and possess knowledge of curriculum standards, accreditation policies, and effective supervision and mentoring practices. This position requires the knowledge and ability to work with technology and its applications for data collection, analysis, reporting, and presentation, as well as, for teaching, learning, and supervision, effective and professional oral and written communication, and excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask. Regional Travel is required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
A Master’s degree in Education or related field is required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of seven (7) years of successful public-school teaching experience and current teacher certification are required. Familiarity with schools and districts in the Murray State service region.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
KY teaching certificate and Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) are preferred. P-12 school or district level leadership experience and/or experience working with teacher candidates and/or coaching beginning teachers are desirable.
