AU Associates is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team. As an award-winning real estate developer and property management company, we specialize in creating high-quality affordable housing for seniors and families. In this role, you will manage accounting functions for multiple entities, support financial reporting and budgeting, assist with audits, and collaborate with property managers and company leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain general ledgers for multiple entities
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Review accounts payable coding and approvals
- Prepare reports for leadership, investors, and lenders
- Assist with budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Support audits and year-end reporting
- Provide guidance to accounting staff and property management teams
- Help identify and implement process improvements
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least three years of progressively responsible accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- CPA or active progress toward CPA certification preferred
- Real estate, property management, or affordable housing accounting experience is a plus
