Technical Project Manager Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a technical project manager in Arkansas?
Most technical project managers in Arkansas enter the role with a bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or business and then pursue the Project Management Professional certification through the Project Management Institute, which is the credential most Arkansas employers list as required or preferred. Candidates who start in IT support, systems analysis, or software development and take on project coordination duties often transition into the role without a formal graduate degree. Building experience with Agile frameworks and enterprise tools strengthens any application.
How much do technical project managers make in Arkansas?
Technical project managers in Arkansas earn a median of about $77,170 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,620 for the lowest 10% to over $133,420 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire technical project managers in Arkansas?
Employers hiring technical project managers in Arkansas right now include Walmart, Southwest Power Pool, and State of Arkansas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's concentration of large retail, healthcare, and logistics headquarters means many of these openings sit within enterprise technology departments managing multi-year platform and infrastructure programs.
Which Arkansas cities have the most technical project manager jobs?
Bentonville, Little Rock, and Arkansas have the most technical project manager openings in Arkansas. Little Rock drives volume through state government IT contracts and healthcare systems, while Bentonville and Fayetteville reflect the dense technology and supply chain operations tied to Walmart's global headquarters and its large base of retail-technology vendors in Northwest Arkansas.
Are there remote technical project manager jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 50% of technical project manager openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which is consistent with the desk-based, coordination-heavy nature of the role. Planning, stakeholder communication, and documentation work translates well to distributed teams, making fully remote arrangements common, particularly in software and enterprise IT project tracks.
How can I get hired as a technical project manager in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a technical role into a junior project coordinator or associate project manager position. Arkansas healthcare systems, state government agencies, and Walmart-ecosystem technology vendors regularly bring on coordinators from backgrounds in IT support, business analysis, or operations. Completing a recognized project management certificate program and gaining hands-on experience with Agile tools like Jira or Smartsheet makes a candidate competitive for those entry-level openings without a dedicated PM degree.
Where can I find and apply to technical project manager jobs in Arkansas?
You can find and apply to technical project manager jobs in Arkansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arkansas openings updated in real time. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and preferred location, and apply directly through each listing.
