Position Summary
The Director, Technology Operations leads the strategic planning and execution of enterprise-scale technology programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational excellence. This role oversees operational readiness, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement to drive successful delivery across multiple strategic projects. By leveraging deep expertise in program management and technology trends, the Director influences decision-making and fosters collaboration across business units. This position champions continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and innovation to support Walmart’s evolving technology landscape and long-term growth initiatives.
About the team
The Delivery Growth Enablement (DGE) Team bridges strategy and execution to advance delivery growth. As LMD targets access, growth, and reliability, DGE transforms these goals into operational results. The team partners early to shape delivery offerings, designs scalable capabilities, and manages the process from concept to launch. DGE drives disciplined growth by increasing volume and GMV while maintaining customer experience, store operations, and driver engagement. It aligns priorities and decision-making across the enterprise, enabling teams to act efficiently and confidently to achieve business objectives.
What you'll do:
- Lead the development and execution of technology operations strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Serve as the primary connective leader across Product, Operations, Technology, Strategy, Analytics, and Field teams to drive alignment, remove barriers, and accelerate execution.
- Partner with senior leadership to evaluate growth opportunities, assess operational feasibility, and influence investment decisions that maximize customer and business impact.
- Define performance metrics, risk assessments, and mitigation plans across multiple projects.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to influence decision-making and drive collaboration.
- Translate business requirements into integrated technology initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Guide the implementation of program management tools and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
What you'll bring:
- Proven ability to influence and align senior leaders across complex, cross-functional organizations to drive strategic outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale programs from concept through execution, balancing growth objectives with operational feasibility.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate ambiguity into actionable plans and measurable results.
- Expertise in risk management, prioritization, and executive decision-making within fast-paced environments.
- Deep understanding of operational excellence, performance metrics, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams and driving enterprise-wide change.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

Minimum Qualifications
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 6 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area. Option 2: 8 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
3 years’ supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 5 years' experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area. We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
