INTRODUCTION
Citi's Investor Services Technology group is seeking a visionary Technology Director to lead the strategy, architecture, and delivery of the Investor Services Workbench (ISW) — Citi's flagship platform for unified client and business activity management across the full spectrum of Investor Services products including Fund Services, Custody, and Securities Finance. This is an opportunity to shape a transformational, enterprise-scale platform that serves as the single pane of glass for client lifecycle management, operational workflow orchestration, and real-time business activity visibility. You will lead a global, multi-disciplinary engineering organization and partner directly with business, product, operations, and technology leadership to define and execute a bold, AI-first technology roadmap. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in enterprise workflow platforms, client-facing technology, and large-scale distributed systems — combined with the leadership gravitas to drive alignment across a complex, global organization and the technical depth to make sound architectural decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Platform Strategy & Roadmap: Define and own the multi-year technology roadmap for the Investor Services Workbench, aligning platform capabilities with business growth, client experience goals, and regulatory requirements across all Investor Services product lines.
- E2E Workflow Enablement: Architect and deliver end-to-end client and business activity workbench solutions — spanning client lifecycle events across Custody, Funds and Securities Finance domain, Corporate actions, NAV process, exception handling, and SLA-driven operational orchestration across all Investor Services domains.
- Client Experience & Workbench: Lead the evolution of the Investor Services workbench as the definitive client-facing and operations-facing workbench — delivering real-time portfolio visibility, activity dashboards, self-service capabilities, and intelligent alerting for institutional clients and internal business users.
- AI-First Engineering: Champion an AI-first hands-on engineering culture — embedding intelligent automation, predictive analytics, NLP-driven client interactions, and ML-powered exception management into the ISW platform to drive operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Data & Integration Architecture: Oversee the design of robust data pipelines, event-driven integration patterns, and API-first connectivity across upstream and downstream systems — ensuring the ISW serves as a reliable, real-time source of truth for client and business activity data.
- Global Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global engineering organization of 50+ engineers, architects, and product technologists. Foster a culture of engineering excellence, psychological safety, continuous learning, and inclusive innovation.
- Risk, Resilience & Compliance: Ensure the ISW platform meets the highest standards of security, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance — partnering with Risk, Compliance, and Infrastructure teams to manage technology risk and maintain audit-ready controls.
- Financial & Vendor Management: Own the technology budget for the ISW program, managing resource allocation, vendor relationships, and strategic sourcing decisions. Deliver measurable ROI through disciplined investment prioritization and cost optimization.
