INTRODUCTION
The School of Engineering Technology at the University of Maine invites applications for an academic year, Lecturer in Surveying Engineering Technology.
The Surveying Engineering Technology program offers innovative in-person and online education at the undergraduate and graduate levels to serve both traditional and non-traditional students. The approximately 400 student population includes B.S undergraduates, undergraduate Certificate students, M.S. in Engineering Technology and Professional Science Masters students, Graduate Certificate students and Eng.D (Doctor of Engineering) students.
The successful applicant will develop and teach online and in-person courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels of the curriculum and will be open to using teaching styles that reach a wide variety of remote students. Engineering technology faculty members clearly communicate with students the connections between principles and professional practice. The selected faculty member will be expected to engage in scholarship, professional service and/or consulting; service to the discipline and the community, as well as professional society activities; ETAC/ABET accreditation efforts; recruitment; student advising; and University committees. The department encourages faculty members to pursue professional development opportunities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Licensed as a land surveyor in the United States.
- A Bachelor of Science (or higher) degree in surveying engineering technology or a closely related discipline by date of hire.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Have performed effectively in remote and in-person collaborative team environments.
Preferred:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in a surveying engineering technology related discipline.
- Prior successful teaching experience in surveying or engineering practices.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
