The Data Analyst, Global Trade Compliance is responsible for leveraging technology to develop and publish key metrics that gauge the health of Leica’s Trade Compliance Program. This position will focus on analyzing global customs data to identify areas of cost and supply chain optimization through duty savings opportunities. This individual is responsible for proactively identifying free trade agreement opportunities and duty refund collection to support Leica’s regulatory, business, and financial objectives.
This position reports to the Director, Global Trade Compliance and is part of the Global Trade Compliance organization and will be fully remote.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Help maintain robust databases or equivalent tools to aggregate operational data and provide targeted visualizations and dashboards to support key trade initiatives and daily work, including global visualization of all Global Trade duty savings and special programs.
- Support development and expansion of global metrics standard work and SOPs, including measurement of auditing process to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Aggregate input to support completion and enhancement of the Global Trade Bowler to track operational KPI. Organize data sources within Share Point to support broad distribution and publication of Global Trade bowlers and metrics.
- Participate in efforts to find automated solutions for high volume, repetitive, trade tasks. Funnel ideas for key IT and AI related trade initiatives. Lead efforts to create business requirement documentation required for IT enhancement requests.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with DBMS systems such as SAP, Claude, Power BI and other tools
- Competency in Power BI Cloud, including app creation, publishing, and utilizing cloud features. Experience in VB scripting to develop macros for automation and process improvement. Experience with SAP reporting
- Experience in data modeling, database design, and SQL development to ensure effective data organization and retrieval. Ability to apply data processing techniques and flowcharting to streamline data workflows.
- Analytical background with up to 2 years of experience in advanced Excel skills demonstrating writing Macros and Power BI Query and or using Visual Basic program to extract information will be advantageous.

This role will require 5% business travel domestically within the United States.

The annual salary range OR the hourly range for this role is 70,000 – 80,000 USD
This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
