Therapist Jobs in Fort Worth: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a therapist job in Fort Worth?
Fort Worth's strongest hiring comes from hospital systems in the Medical District, community mental health centers serving the Near Southside and Stop Six, and private group practices concentrated along the West 7th corridor. Candidates with experience in trauma-informed care, substance use treatment, or bilingual counseling stand out in this market. Targeting employers near the Texas Health Resources and JPS Health Network campuses gives you the highest concentration of open roles.
Which companies hire therapists in Fort Worth?
Companies currently hiring therapists in Fort Worth include Medical City Healthcare, Select Medical, and Texas Health Resources, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Fort Worth's employer mix leans heavily toward hospital-affiliated outpatient clinics, nonprofit behavioral health agencies, and school-based mental health contractors serving Tarrant County.
Are there remote therapist jobs in Fort Worth?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on specialty, since clinical therapists providing direct patient care typically must be on-site, while supervisory, case management, or utilization review roles offer more flexibility. About 5% of therapist openings tied to Fort Worth are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with teletherapy roles for licensed providers being the most consistently remote category in this market.
How can I get a therapist job in Fort Worth with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Fort Worth is through community mental health centers and nonprofit agencies, which regularly hire associate-level clinicians working toward licensure under supervision. Employers like JPS Health Network and Tarrant County Mental Health programs frequently onboard provisionally licensed candidates. Roles such as case manager, mental health technician, or crisis counselor are common stepping stones that provide the supervised hours needed to advance toward full licensure in Texas.
Which industries hire the most therapists in Fort Worth?
The sectors hiring the most therapists in Fort Worth are Healthcare & Medical Services, Consulting & Professional Services, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Fort Worth's large hospital network, growing school district mental health mandates, and concentration of veterans' services through its proximity to NAS Fort Worth JRB all drive sustained local demand across these sectors.
