Licensed Mental Health Therapist — Bilingual English/Spanish Strongly Preferred
Remote · Maryland License Required · Part-time or Full-time
Many of the families we serve want therapy in Spanish. We need clinicians who can show up for them.
Backpack Healthcare provides mental health care for children, teens, and young adults — all online, covered by most insurance. We're clinician-led and minority-owned, and we're growing fast across Illinois, particularly among Spanish-speaking families who've had too few options for too long.
If you're a bilingual therapist who believes culturally responsive care isn't a bonus feature but the whole point — we want to talk.
What this role looks like
You'll carry a caseload of 15–36 sessions per week (you choose part-time or full-time) providing individual, family, and group therapy via telehealth. Most of our clinicians work weekday afternoons and evenings (2–9 PM), with weekend availability a plus.
Day-to-day you'll:
- Conduct intakes and build client-centered, trauma-informed treatment plans
- Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team — therapists, PMHNPs, and psychiatrists working together
- Maintain timely documentation in our EHR
- Support families with education and care coordination, not just the child in the room
What we offer
- $45–$65/billable hour, based on license level
- Medical, dental, and vision (full-time)
- 401(k) with 3% company match
- Paid time off
- $300 annual CEU reimbursement
- Free clinical supervision for LMSW/LPC roles
- $25,000 company-paid life insurance
- Employee Assistance Program
- Pathways to clinical leadership, including our Residency & Fellowship Program
What we're looking for
- Active Maryland license: LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, LMFT or LCSW-C
- Experience with children, teens, and families
- Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
- Bilingual English/Spanish — strongly preferred, not just a nice-to-have
- Grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice
Who we are
We've served 12,000+ kids and families since 2020. 78% of families report their child is doing better after three months of care. We're not perfect, but we're serious — about outcomes, about our clinicians, and about the communities we serve.
When clinicians thrive, kids thrive. That's not a tagline. It's how we build.
Backpack Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity in age, background, identity, and experience — and we mean it.

Therapist Jobs in Arlington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a therapist job in Arlington?
Focus your search on Arlington's three strongest hiring sectors: federally affiliated behavioral health programs, nonprofit community mental health organizations, and outpatient clinical practices near Clarendon and Ballston. Candidates with experience in trauma-informed care, military family support, or substance use counseling stand out here given the area's strong ties to the federal workforce and veteran services. Targeting employers near the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor gives you the densest concentration of openings.
Which companies hire therapists in Arlington?
Arlington therapist roles are posted by VHC Health, Arlington County, and LifeStance Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arlington's employer mix skews toward healthcare systems, community mental health centers, and organizations serving military-connected families and federal employees.
Are there remote therapist jobs in Arlington?
Yes, though therapist roles are less remote-friendly than desk-based occupations given the hands-on, client-facing nature of the work. About 39% of therapist openings tied to Arlington are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with telehealth platforms and employee assistance program providers accounting for most of those flexible arrangements. Traditional outpatient and community clinic roles in Arlington typically require in-person presence.
How can I get a therapist job in Arlington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Arlington is through practicum or internship placements at community mental health centers or nonprofit behavioral health organizations, many of which convert strong interns into staff. Look for roles titled counseling intern, case manager, or behavioral health technician at organizations serving Arlington's veteran and low-income populations. Bilingual candidates and those with volunteer experience in crisis support have a noticeable edge with Arlington nonprofits.
Which industries hire the most therapists in Arlington?
Arlington therapist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Sports & Recreation, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arlington's proximity to the Pentagon, federal agencies, and a large veteran population drives unusually strong demand in behavioral health programs tied to military family services and government employee assistance programs.
