Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship in Business To Business
Frame your degree against the role
TN visa eligibility requires your bachelor's degree field to align with the B2B role. A marketing or business administration degree supports account management positions, but a general arts degree may not. Pull out coursework and concentration areas that map directly to the job title.
Target employers with recent visa filings
Companies with recent visa filings have experience navigating work visa sponsorship and are more likely to move quickly through the offer stage. Search Migrate Mate to identify B2B employers who have sponsored professionals in management or business analyst roles before, signaling they're familiar with visa sponsorship processes.
Confirm specialty occupation in writing before signing
Before you accept an offer, ask the employer to confirm in the offer letter that the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Vague language like 'preferred' rather than 'required' creates problems at the port of entry.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsoring employers
Not every B2B company lists sponsorship willingness upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with documented TN sponsorship activity for business roles, so you're applying to positions where a pathway already exists rather than discovering the answer after an offer.
Prepare for CBP questions about client relationships
At the port of entry, Canadian applicants are adjudicated on the spot. Officers often ask about your employer's clients, your reporting structure, and why the role requires your specific degree. Rehearse concise answers that tie your education directly to the position's duties.
Understand the Mexican TN cap before your timeline locks in
Mexican nationals have a 5,500 annual TN allocation under USMCA. If you're Mexican and your start date falls in the back half of the fiscal year, confirm with your employer early that allocation space is available before you resign your current position.
Business To Business TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Do business-to-business roles qualify for the TN visa?
Yes, if the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business administration, marketing, or management and your employer can document that requirement. Generic sales roles that accept any degree or no degree at all typically fail the specialty occupation test at the port of entry. The job offer letter needs to state the degree requirement explicitly.
How does TN compare to H-1B for B2B professionals?
TN has no lottery and no annual cap for Canadians, so you can start as soon as your employer is ready. H-1B visa requires registration in March, a lottery selection, and an October 1 start date at the earliest. For B2B roles where employers want to move quickly, TN is often the faster path, though it requires renewing with each employer change.
What documents does a B2B employer need to sponsor a TN visa?
The employer prepares an offer letter that describes the role, confirms the bachelor's degree requirement, states the intended duration, and lists your job title. USCIS is not involved for Canadian applicants, since CBP adjudicates at the border. Mexican nationals file a DS-160 and attend a consular interview. Neither path requires PERM labor certification.
Where can I find B2B employers that actively sponsor TN visas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It filters employers by recent visa filing activity and role type, so you're not cold-applying to companies that will decline at the offer stage. Most general job platforms don't filter by visa sponsorship experience, which wastes time in a process where timing matters.
Can I switch B2B employers while on a TN visa?
Yes, but you need a new TN authorization tied to the new employer before you start working there. For Canadian citizens that means a new port-of-entry admission or an I-129 petition filed by the new employer. You can't carry your current TN status to a different company. Build in at least a few weeks between offer acceptance and your target start date.
