Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Creative
Align your portfolio to specialty occupation standards
TN approval hinges on proving your Creative role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Structure your portfolio to show the direct connection between your degree discipline and the technical demands of the position, not just creative output.
Request a TN-specific offer letter from employers
A generic offer letter won't satisfy CBP or a consular officer. Ask your employer to specify your job title, duties, required degree, and a statement that the role qualifies under USMCA's professional categories before you file or travel.
Target studios and agencies experienced with visa sponsorship
Creative departments at mid-size agencies and in-house brand teams often have experience with visa sponsorship generally. Look for employers who understand the visa process and can prepare a strong support letter—a sign they've navigated work visa requirements before.
Use Migrate Mate to find Creative roles with TN sponsorship
Searching broadly for Creative jobs wastes time on employers with no TN experience. Migrate Mate filters specifically for TN visa sponsorship, so you're only seeing roles from employers already prepared to support your application.
Prepare for CBP scrutiny on degree-to-role fit
Canadian citizens apply at the border, where CBP officers make real-time decisions. Bring transcripts, a credential evaluation if your degree is from a non-U.S. institution, and a clear written summary of how your degree maps to your Creative role.
Understand how Mexican TN caps affect your timeline
Mexican nationals face an annual TN allocation under USMCA, unlike Canadians. If approvals are running close to the cap year, your consular appointment timing affects whether you get sponsored in the current fiscal year or must wait.

Find Creative JobsCreative TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Creative roles qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Yes, but the specific job title and duties matter. Roles like graphic designer, technical writer, and art director can qualify when the position requires a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Job titles like 'creative director' without a clear degree requirement attached to the duties are harder to support and face more scrutiny at CBP or the consulate.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Creative professionals?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadians, which means you can apply any time of year and receive a decision without waiting for a random selection. H-1B requires entering a lottery that selects only a fraction of registrants each year. For Canadian Creative professionals with a qualifying role and degree, TN is a more reliable and faster path to U.S. employment.
What documentation does a Creative professional need for TN sponsorship?
You'll need a job offer letter that specifies your title, duties, and that the role requires a bachelor's degree in your field. You also need your degree credentials, transcripts, and if applicable, a credential evaluation for non-U.S. degrees. Canadian citizens present this documentation at a port of entry. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate and need an appointment scheduled in advance.
How can I find Creative jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most job postings don't specify visa type, so filtering by sponsorship willingness is difficult through general searches. Migrate Mate is built specifically for TN visa job seekers and surfaces Creative roles from employers who are prepared to support TN applications, saving you from pitching employers who have no experience with the process.
Can I switch Creative employers on a TN visa?
Yes, but you need a new TN authorization for each employer. The TN visa is employer-specific, so changing jobs means your new employer must provide a fresh offer letter and you'll need to go through the entry or consular process again. Canadian citizens can do this at any port of entry, while Mexican nationals need a new consular appointment.
