Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as an Expeditor
Align your credentials to Industrial Engineers
TN classification for Expeditors falls under the Industrial Engineers category, which requires a relevant bachelor's degree. Gather transcripts and a credential evaluation before applying so employers can confirm your eligibility upfront.
Target manufacturers with complex supply chains
Automotive, aerospace, and electronics manufacturers generate the highest demand for Expeditors managing parts flow across borders. These industries are accustomed to TN sponsorship and understand the filing requirements, reducing friction during offer negotiations.
Request a support letter detailing your role
CBP officers scrutinize whether the Expeditor role genuinely requires engineering-level judgment rather than clerical coordination. Ask your employer to describe specific duties like capacity planning, supplier escalation, and production scheduling in the support letter.
Clarify Canadian versus Mexican processing differences
Canadian citizens can apply at the port of entry the day an offer is accepted. Mexican citizens need a visa stamp from a U.S. consulate first, which adds consular scheduling time. Factor this into your start-date negotiation.
Search for verified TN sponsors using Migrate Mate
Not every employer listing an Expeditor role has TN sponsorship experience. Use Migrate Mate to filter for companies with confirmed TN visa sponsorship history so you spend your time on employers who already know the process.
Prepare for TN renewal before your status expires
TN status is granted in three-year increments with unlimited renewals. File your renewal petition with USCIS or reapply at the border before your current period ends to avoid any gap in your authorization to work.

Find Expeditor JobsExpeditor TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Expeditor role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, but the classification depends on how the role is structured. TN visa petitions for Expeditors are filed under the Industrial Engineers category, which requires that the position involve engineering-level responsibilities such as production scheduling, workflow analysis, or supplier capacity management, not purely administrative or clerical coordination. A well-drafted employer support letter that spells out those duties is essential.
How does TN visa sponsorship for Expeditors compare to H-1B?
TN sponsorship is substantially faster and more predictable for Expeditor roles. There is no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and no multi-month USCIS adjudication wait if you are Canadian and apply at a port of entry. H-1B selection is random and limited to 85,000 registrations per year. For Canadian and Mexican professionals in supply chain roles, TN is almost always the more direct path.
How do I find Expeditor jobs where the employer already understands TN sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Expeditor positions at companies with confirmed TN visa sponsorship history. That filtering matters because many employers posting supply chain roles have never processed a TN petition and will decline even qualified candidates once they learn about the requirement.
Can I switch Expeditor employers while on TN status?
Yes, but you cannot work for the new employer until your new TN status is approved. Canadians can apply at the port of entry the day they are ready to start. Mexican citizens need a new TN visa stamp before starting with the new employer. There is no portability rule for TN the way AC21 works for H-1B holders, so timing your transition carefully with your employer is critical.
What documents does my employer need to sponsor my TN visa as an Expeditor?
Your employer needs to prepare a support letter that describes the Expeditor position, confirms it falls under the Industrial Engineers category, and states that you meet the educational requirements. You will need to provide your degree transcripts or a credential evaluation if your degree is from outside the U.S. or Canada. For Mexican citizens, the employer must also support a DS-160 application for the consular visa stamp.
