Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Field Manager
Match your degree to the role category
Field Manager positions must tie to a recognized TN category like civil engineer or industrial engineer. A degree in business administration alone won't qualify, even with years of field management experience. Confirm the match before applying.
Target employers with multi-site operations
Construction, utilities, and infrastructure companies running projects across multiple states are most accustomed to TN sponsorship paperwork. Targeting these employers increases your chances of finding a hiring manager familiar with the process.
Prepare a role-specific support letter early
The employer support letter must explain how your Field Manager duties require professional-level engineering or scientific knowledge, not just supervisory experience. CBP officers review this at the border for Canadian applicants, so precision matters.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Searching broadly for Field Manager jobs wastes time on employers who won't sponsor. Migrate Mate filters for companies with active TN visa sponsorship history, so you're targeting employers who have already navigated the process for similar roles.
Clarify TN versus H-1B with your offer contact
Many HR teams default to H-1B conversations without knowing TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals. Bring up TN directly during the offer stage. Canadians can have status approved the same day at a port of entry, which eliminates the months-long H-1B timeline.
Gather credential documents before the border appointment
Canadian applicants processed at the port of entry need original degree transcripts, a detailed offer letter, and proof of Canadian citizenship. Missing any one document results in a same-day refusal with no opportunity to supplement.

Find Field Manager JobsField Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Field Manager role actually qualify for TN visa status?
It depends on the degree behind the role. TN status isn't granted for job titles alone. If your Field Manager position requires and you hold a bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, or industrial engineering, the role can qualify under a TN engineer category. If the employer frames it as a general management role without a professional-level technical requirement, USCIS or CBP may not approve it.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Field Manager positions?
TN is faster and more predictable for Canadian nationals. There's no annual lottery, no cap, and Canadian applicants can receive approval at a U.S. port of entry the same day they present their documents. H-1B requires a lottery selection, a months-long USCIS processing period, and an October 1 start date. For Mexican nationals, TN involves consular processing but still avoids the H-1B lottery entirely.
Can Mexican nationals get TN sponsorship for Field Manager jobs?
Yes, but the process differs from Canada. Mexican nationals apply through a U.S. consulate rather than at a port of entry, and the TN category has an annual allocation that can create wait times. The degree and role-category requirements are identical, so your Field Manager position still needs to map to a qualifying TN professional occupation backed by a relevant credential.
Where can I find Field Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for TN visa job seekers. Rather than sorting through general job listings with no sponsorship information, you can search Field Manager roles filtered by employers who have a history of TN and other work visa sponsorship. That targeting cuts out the back-and-forth with HR teams who don't know the TN process.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a detailed support letter on company letterhead that states your job title, describes your duties in professional terms tied to a TN category, confirms the full-time offer, and specifies the employment period. For Canadian applicants processed at the border, this letter is reviewed on the spot by a CBP officer. Vague or generic descriptions are a common reason for same-day refusals.
