Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Finance Business Partner
Match your degree to the Accountant category
TN approval for Finance Business Partner roles depends on framing your credentials under the Accountant category. A degree in accounting or finance works cleanly. A business or economics degree needs a transcript review showing sufficient accounting coursework before you apply.
Target employers experienced with visa sponsorship
Finance Business Partner roles sit inside corporate finance teams at mid-to-large companies. Look for employers with recent visa filings, since their HR and legal teams already understand work visa sponsorship processes and won't need educating at the offer stage. For TN visa roles specifically, these employers are more likely to be comfortable with the streamlined TN process—no government filing required, just an employer support letter and port-of-entry presentation for Canadians or consulate application for Mexicans.
Prepare a detailed offer letter before your port of entry
Canadian professionals must carry a qualifying offer letter to the U.S. port of entry. The letter needs to specify your role as Finance Business Partner, confirm the accounting or financial analysis duties, state your salary, and list your employer's full legal name and address.
Clarify your job duties upfront with the hiring manager
Finance Business Partner roles vary widely. If your position leans toward operational management rather than financial analysis and reporting, TN eligibility weakens. Confirm before accepting an offer that your written duties reflect accountant-level analytical work, not general business management.
Use Migrate Mate to find TN-ready Finance Business Partner roles
Searching broadly misses employers already open to TN sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters Finance Business Partner jobs by TN visa compatibility, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already on the table rather than negotiating it from scratch after an offer.
Understand the Mexican consular process timeline before negotiating start dates
Mexican citizens must attend a U.S. consular interview, which adds weeks to the process. Negotiate your start date with the employer only after you have a confirmed appointment. Your employer will prepare a support letter, which is a key document for your consulate application. Plan accordingly, as the consular interview scheduling and processing typically take several weeks.

Find Finance Business Partner JobsFinance Business Partner TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Finance Business Partner role qualify for TN visa status?
Finance Business Partner roles qualify under the TN Accountant category if your core duties involve financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting rather than general business management. Your job offer letter must reflect those accountant-level functions explicitly. Roles where the title is largely a rebranding of a business operations manager position face higher scrutiny at the port of entry or consulate.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Finance Business Partner positions?
TN visa sponsorship for Finance Business Partner roles is faster and more predictable than H-1B. There is no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and no multi-month USCIS adjudication wait. Canadian professionals can obtain TN status at the U.S. border on their start date. H-1B requires a lottery selection in April and a six-month wait before the October 1 start date.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer needs to provide a signed support letter on company letterhead that specifies your job title, confirms your duties qualify under the Accountant category, states your full-time or part-time status, and includes your employer's legal name and address. For Mexican citizens, this support letter is presented at a U.S. consulate during the visa application process. For Canadians, the support letter is presented directly at the U.S. border or port of entry. No USCIS petition is required for either nationality.
Where can I find Finance Business Partner jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals searching for TN-eligible roles. Rather than filtering through general job boards where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces Finance Business Partner positions where employers are already open to TN sponsorship, saving you the step of negotiating visa support after an offer is extended.
Can I switch employers on a TN visa if I get a better Finance Business Partner offer?
Yes, but TN status is employer-specific. You cannot simply transfer it to a new employer. Canadian citizens can present a new offer letter at a U.S. port of entry and obtain TN status for the new role the same day. Mexican citizens need to schedule a new consular appointment. Plan your transition carefully to avoid any gap in authorized work status between employers.
