Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Learning Development Manager
Align your credentials to the role definition
TN eligibility for this role turns on demonstrating a direct match between your degree field and the job duties. A diploma in adult education or organizational development is stronger than a general business degree, even if your experience is equivalent.
Target employers with established L&D departments
Employers who already run internal training programs, learning management systems, or leadership academies are familiar with the documentation TN requires. Mid-size to large companies in healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing are consistent sponsors for this role.
Request a specialty occupation letter early
Ask your offer-stage employer to draft a TN support letter confirming the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. This letter, not the job title alone, is what CBP officers evaluate at the Canadian port of entry.
Search TN-sponsored positions on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Learning Development Manager jobs by TN visa sponsorship availability, so you're not spending time on roles where the employer hasn't committed to the visa process. Start your search there before applying broadly.
Clarify your instructional design credentials upfront
If your background includes e-learning development or LMS administration, document it explicitly in your resume and TN packet. CBP officers assessing this role look for evidence the job is specialized, not general training coordination.
Understand Mexican nationals face a separate consular process
Unlike Canadians who can self-petition at the border, Mexican professionals must schedule a consular interview and present the employer's TN support letter in advance. Build at least four to six additional weeks into your timeline for appointment availability.

Find Learning Development Manager JobsLearning Development Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Learning Development Manager role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, if the position requires a bachelor's degree in a field directly related to the job, such as education, instructional design, human resources, or organizational development. The TN category covers management roles where the degree requirement is specific, not general. Employers should confirm this in their support letter before you apply at the border or consulate.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Learning Development Manager positions?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and no multi-year wait. You can enter on TN status in days if your documentation is complete. H-1B requires employer sponsorship through a competitive lottery with a March registration window and an October start date. For Canadian and Mexican professionals in this role, TN is a faster and more reliable path.
What documents does my employer need to prepare for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a signed support letter on company letterhead specifying your job title, duties, required credentials, length of employment, and that the role is a TN-qualifying specialty occupation. You'll also need your original degree certificate and transcripts. USCIS is not involved for Canadian applicants; CBP adjudicates at the port of entry.
Where can I find Learning Development Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals searching for roles with TN visa sponsorship. You can filter by job title and visa type, which removes the guesswork of approaching employers who aren't familiar with or willing to support the TN process for this role.
Can I switch employers while on TN status as a Learning Development Manager?
Yes, but TN status is employer-specific. When you change jobs, your new employer must independently support a TN application, and you'll need to either reenter at the border with new documentation or file a change of employer petition with USCIS. Your current TN does not automatically transfer to the new role.
