Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Microsoft Power Platform
Align your credentials to Systems Analyst
TN classification for Power Platform roles depends on fitting the Systems Analyst category. Your degree must be in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field. A business degree alone, even with years of Power Apps experience, may not satisfy CBP officers.
Target employers with recent visa filings
Search Migrate Mate to find companies experienced with visa sponsorship for Systems Analyst roles. These employers have demonstrated familiarity with work visa processes and are more likely to be open to supporting qualified candidates through the TN visa application.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for TN-sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to find Microsoft Power Platform roles at employers with recent visa filings, indicating experience with work visa sponsorship. Filtering by visa type helps you target companies familiar with sponsoring international talent, rather than those focused solely on other visa categories.
Clarify your role scope during offer negotiations
CBP requires that your actual duties align with the Systems Analyst definition. If your Power Platform role mixes significant project management or business analysis work, get the job offer letter to emphasize technical design, system configuration, and solution architecture over general coordination tasks.
Prepare for port-of-entry TN approval as a Canadian
Canadian citizens can apply for TN status directly at a U.S. land border or airport without a consular appointment. Bring your degree transcripts, the employer's support letter, and your signed job offer. CBP officers adjudicate TN petitions on the spot, so document clarity matters more than preparation time.
Request that Mexican employers start early for consular scheduling
Mexican nationals cannot apply for TN status at the border and must attend a consular interview in Mexico. Consulate wait times vary significantly by city and season. Ask your U.S. employer to initiate sponsorship paperwork at least eight to twelve weeks before your intended start date.

Find Microsoft Power Platform JobsMicrosoft Power Platform TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Microsoft Power Platform work qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Yes, Power Platform roles typically qualify under the Systems Analyst occupational category listed in USMCA's TN profession schedule. Your duties must center on analyzing and designing automated systems, workflows, or data solutions rather than general project management. The employer's job offer letter should emphasize technical system design to align with CBP's Systems Analyst definition.
How does TN visa sponsorship for Power Platform roles compare to H-1B?
TN is significantly more accessible for this role. There's no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and employers can sponsor you without filing with USCIS in advance. H-1B requires a lottery selection that only covers roughly one in four applicants in recent years. For a Systems Analyst role like Power Platform, TN is the faster and more reliable path for Canadian and Mexican professionals.
Where can I find Microsoft Power Platform jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter for Power Platform roles by visa type and see which employers have recent visa filings, so you're applying to companies already experienced with visa sponsorship. General job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type, which means you'll spend significant time screening out roles that only support H-1B or don't sponsor at all.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a formal support letter on company letterhead that states your job title, duties, the Systems Analyst TN category, your qualifications, and the anticipated length of employment. For Canadian applicants, this letter, along with your degree transcripts and a valid passport, is typically all CBP requires at the port of entry. Mexican nationals will also need a visa stamp from a U.S. consulate.
Can I switch Power Platform employers while on TN status?
You can change employers, but your TN status is tied to your current employer. Canadian citizens can apply for a new TN at a port of entry with the new employer's documentation without waiting for USCIS. Mexican nationals must apply at a U.S. consulate. You cannot legally begin work for the new employer until the new TN is approved, so timing your transition carefully matters.
