Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Strategy Associate
Frame your credentials around Management Consultant
TN visa eligibility for Strategy Associates hinges on the Management Consultant category, not a generic business title. Your degree and job offer letter must both explicitly reference consulting, strategic analysis, or advisory functions to satisfy CBP officers at entry.
Target employers experienced with visa sponsorship
Consulting firms, Fortune 500 strategy teams, and private equity-backed companies are more likely to have experience with work visa sponsorship generally, making them better equipped to support TN visa applicants. Ask recruiters directly whether their legal team has handled work visa sponsorships before extending an offer.
Get your offer letter written for CBP scrutiny
The offer letter is your primary TN document. It must describe your duties in Management Consultant terms, specify a defined contract period, confirm your Canadian or Mexican citizenship, and state that the role is temporary in nature.
Search for sponsoring employers using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Strategy Associate openings by employers with recent visa filings. This cuts the prospecting time significantly and surfaces roles where the hiring team already understands visa sponsorship processes and may be familiar with the Management Consultant TN category requirements.
Clarify the Mexican allocation timeline early
Mexican citizens face a capped annual TN allocation, which means consular appointment timing and fiscal year positioning matter. Confirm your employer's legal team accounts for this before you resign from your current role or set a start date.
Align your degree field to the role description
CBP officers verify that your degree subject connects directly to the work described. A strategy role grounded in financial modeling or operations needs credentials in business, economics, or engineering, not a loosely related field that requires explanation at the port of entry.

Find Strategy Associate JobsStrategy Associate TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Strategy Associate role qualify for a TN visa?
Yes, Strategy Associate positions typically qualify under the TN Management Consultant category, which covers advisory, analytical, and strategic planning work for organizations. The key requirement is that your duties must genuinely involve consulting functions, your degree must align with those duties, and your employer's offer letter must describe the role in those specific terms.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Strategy Associates?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and can often be obtained at the border the same day. H-1B requires lottery selection, a multi-month wait, and USCIS adjudication. For Strategy Associates who qualify under the Management Consultant category, TN is generally faster and more predictable. The trade-off is that TN does not lead to permanent residence directly.
Where can I find Strategy Associate jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to surface roles where employers have TN visa sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never processed a TN petition. Filtering by the Management Consultant category and your target industry narrows results to employers who already understand what TN sponsorship requires for strategy roles.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a detailed offer letter that describes your Strategy Associate duties in Management Consultant terms, states the temporary nature of the engagement, confirms your citizenship, and specifies the contract duration. Canadian citizens present this letter directly to CBP at a port of entry. Mexican citizens also need it for their consular interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate.
Can I switch employers while on a TN visa as a Strategy Associate?
Yes, but you need a new TN authorization for each employer. Canadian citizens can typically obtain this at the border with a new offer letter from the incoming employer. Mexican citizens must go through consular processing again. You cannot start work for the new employer until the new TN is approved, so plan the transition timing carefully with both companies.
