INTRODUCTION
Who We Are
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion. Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You’ll support the monthly revenue close and ASC 606 revenue accounting for a defined area of our business, with a focus on usage-based and AI-credit revenue. This role exists because we’re scaling quickly and need more dedicated support to keep revenue recognition accurate and audit-ready as complexity increases. What’s different at Notion: you’ll help build an AI-native finance function, and you’ll work at the intersection of billing systems, product usage, and accounting judgment—so your work directly impacts how fast we can launch and iterate. This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE
- Big bet: Help make the close faster and cleaner — your accurate, on-time work keeps revenue accounting from becoming the bottleneck.
- By day 90, you’ll support month-end close for a defined rev-rec area with clean, audit-ready support.
- By day 90, you’ll use AI as leverage: partner with the team to generate and validate SQL queries, automate variance checks, and build a lightweight agent/workflow that flags discrepancies before they surprise the close.
- By the end of year 1, you’ll produce reliable, well-documented reconciliations and audit support, and contribute to SOX/control documentation.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting.
- Working knowledge of ASC 606, with a desire to deepen your judgment on subscription + usage-based revenue and contract changes.
- Comfort with SQL (or eagerness to ramp quickly) — you can query datasets to investigate discrepancies.
- Demonstrated ability to run detailed reconciliations, investigate breaks, and land on root cause with clear, audit-ready support.
- Strong ownership and attention to detail: you reliably hit close deadlines without trading off quality.
- AI fluency in practice: you actively use AI tools to improve the quality and reliability of your analyses, checks, and close workflows (not just speed).
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience with NetSuite (ARM), Salesforce CPQ, Stripe, or Metronome.
- Exposure to usage-based or consumption pricing and the billing/rev-rec complexity it creates.
- SOX / internal controls experience.
COMPENSATION
Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco, the estimated base salary range for this role is $106,000 – $119,000 per year.
A Note on AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.

Frame your credentials around management consulting
TN visa classification for Revenue Operations roles typically relies on the Management Consultant category. Document that your degree is in business, finance, or a related field, and that your work involves organizational or process improvement, not just operations execution.
Target companies with multi-entity revenue structures
Employers running CRM, CPQ, or forecasting tools across multiple business units generate the clearest TN justification for your role. These companies can articulate why a credentialed consultant, not a generalist manager, is required for the position.
Get your TN support letter right the first time
The employer's support letter must tie your specific duties to a qualifying TN category. Vague descriptions like 'manage revenue processes' get flagged. Ask for language that specifies analytical methodology, cross-functional advisory scope, and the consulting nature of your deliverables.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers fast
Searching for Revenue Operations Manager roles with confirmed TN sponsorship willingness is harder than it looks. Migrate Mate filters employers by visa sponsorship history so you spend time on viable opportunities, not cold outreach to companies unfamiliar with TN filings.
Prepare for Canadian border entry with a complete package
Canadian citizens can get TN status approved at a port of entry without a visa stamp. Bring your support letter, degree transcripts, a detailed job offer, and any professional certifications. CBP officers adjudicate on the spot, so gaps in your package cause denials.
Clarify TN extension timing with your employer before signing
TN status is granted in three-year increments and is employer-specific. Confirm your offer letter addresses extension plans and that your employer's HR team understands TN renewals don't involve USCIS lottery cycles the way H-1B visa renewals do.
Revenue Operations Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Revenue Operations Manager role qualify for TN visa status?
It can, but the classification depends on how the role is defined. TN doesn't have a dedicated Revenue Operations category, so most filings rely on Management Consultant. Your duties must reflect genuine consulting work, including analysis, recommendations, and cross-functional advisory scope. A role framed purely as internal team management is harder to support under TN.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for this role?
For Canadians, TN is significantly more practical. There's no lottery, no cap, and approval can happen at a port of entry on the day you apply. H-1B requires a lottery entry each spring with roughly a 25% selection rate for most applicants. For Mexicans, TN has a 5,500-per-year cap, but still avoids the H-1B lottery entirely and typically processes faster.
Where can I find Revenue Operations Manager jobs that sponsor TN visas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces Revenue Operations Manager roles at companies with documented TN and work visa sponsorship history, so you're not wasting time applying to employers who've never navigated the process. Most general job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type, which makes targeting TN-viable roles difficult without a dedicated tool.
Can I switch employers on a TN visa if I get a better RevOps offer?
Yes, but your current TN status is tied to your existing employer. You can't start working for a new company under your current TN approval. Canadians can apply for a new TN at the border with the new employer's documentation. Mexicans need a new consular appointment. Plan the timing carefully to avoid any gap in authorized status between roles.
What documentation does my employer need to provide for my TN sponsorship?
Your employer must provide a detailed support letter describing your role, the qualifying TN category, your specific duties, your salary, and the anticipated duration of employment. For Revenue Operations roles, the letter should explicitly describe consulting-style activities such as process analysis, systems recommendations, and cross-departmental advisory work. Degree transcripts and any relevant certifications complete the package.
