Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Align your credentials to USMCA engineer requirements
TN approval for engineers requires a degree in engineering or a closely related field. A computer science or software engineering degree supports cloud infrastructure roles, but an IT management degree often does not. Confirm your credential maps before applying.
Target employers with recent visa filing experience
Companies with recent visa filings for engineering or infrastructure roles have already demonstrated familiarity with sponsoring work visas. Prioritizing these employers means hiring managers likely understand the visa sponsorship landscape, reducing the need to educate them on general visa processes from the ground up.
Use Migrate Mate to filter sponsorship-ready cloud roles
Search Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer positions on Migrate Mate to find employers already structured for TN visa sponsorship, so you're not cold-pitching companies unfamiliar with USMCA filing requirements for technical roles.
Request a detailed offer letter before your border crossing
Canadian citizens apply for TN status directly at a port of entry. CBP officers review your offer letter on the spot, so it must specify your role title, engineering duties, your degree field, and that employment is temporary in nature.
Clarify multi-cloud scope during employer conversations
Roles spanning AWS, Azure, and GCP architecture are common in senior cloud infrastructure positions. Confirm your offer letter and any employer-prepared support documents accurately describe your actual duties, since vague titles like 'cloud consultant' draw more CBP scrutiny.
Understand the Mexican consular appointment timeline early
Mexican nationals cannot self-petition at a border crossing for TN status and must schedule a consular interview. Consulate appointment backlogs in Mexico City and Monterrey can run several weeks, so start the scheduling process as soon as you have an offer.

Find Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer JobsSenior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, provided your offer letter and duties align with the USMCA's Engineer category. Cloud infrastructure roles involving design, architecture, and systems integration typically qualify. Roles with a heavier focus on project management or team leadership without substantive technical engineering duties can face CBP scrutiny, so your offer letter wording matters.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for this role?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and can be processed at a port of entry the same day for Canadians. H-1B requires a March registration, a lottery selection, and USCIS petition processing that can take months. For Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineers with a qualifying engineering degree, TN is generally faster and more predictable than H-1B.
What documentation does my employer need to prepare for TN sponsorship?
Your employer needs to prepare a detailed support letter confirming your title, engineering duties, degree requirement, and the temporary nature of the position. For Canadian applicants, this letter is presented directly to CBP at the port of entry alongside your credentials. For Mexican applicants, the support letter is submitted as part of your visa application at a U.S. consulate. The entire TN process is handled between you and your employer—no government labor certification is required.
Where can I find Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking roles with TN visa sponsorship. You can filter for Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer positions with employers already set up to handle USMCA-based sponsorship, avoiding companies unfamiliar with the TN filing process for technical engineering roles.
Can I switch employers after starting a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role on TN status?
Yes, but TN status is employer-specific, so you need a new TN approval tied to your new employer before you begin working for them. Canadian citizens can obtain new TN status at a port of entry. Mexican nationals must go back through the consular process. There is no grace period that covers gaps between TN-authorized positions.
