Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as an Asset Protection Specialist
Frame your credentials around loss prevention
TN approval depends on your role fitting a qualifying USMCA category. Document how your experience covers inventory shrinkage analysis, internal audit, and organized retail crime response, not just general security duties. A credential in loss prevention or a relevant business degree strengthens your file significantly.
Target retailers with dedicated AP departments
Large-format retailers and grocery chains maintain structured Asset Protection teams and often have experience with visa sponsorship. Prioritize employers with recent visa filings or those whose job postings mention immigration support, which signals they have HR infrastructure to guide you through the TN sponsorship process. For Canadian applicants, this means they're prepared to write a support letter for your port-of-entry presentation; for Mexican applicants, they can facilitate your consulate application.
Clarify the Management Consultant classification upfront
Asset Protection Specialist roles often qualify under the USMCA Management Consultant category, but your offer letter must reflect consulting-style analytical responsibilities. Ask your prospective employer to describe the role in terms of organizational risk assessment and process improvement, not routine surveillance or physical security.
Use Migrate Mate to identify sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to find Asset Protection Specialist openings where employers have active TN or H-1B filing history. Filtering by sponsorship-verified employers saves time and connects you directly with companies already prepared to file on your behalf.
Prepare for Canadian border TN applications strategically
Canadian citizens can apply for TN status at a port of entry the same day, but CBP officers have discretion. Bring your offer letter, educational transcripts, and a one-page role description that maps your duties to the USMCA occupational category before you travel.
Confirm Mexican consulate appointment timing early
Mexican nationals must apply through a U.S. consulate and schedule an appointment in advance, which can take weeks during busy periods. Request your employer prepare a detailed support letter outlining your qualifications and role before you book your consulate date to avoid delays after your appointment is set.

Find Asset Protection Specialist JobsAsset Protection Specialist TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Asset Protection Specialist role qualify for a TN visa?
It can, but the classification depends on how your duties are framed. Asset Protection Specialists typically qualify under the USMCA Management Consultant category when the role centers on organizational risk analysis, loss-prevention program development, and structured reporting. Roles focused primarily on physical security or surveillance without an analytical component are harder to support under this category. Your offer letter language matters significantly at adjudication.
How does TN visa sponsorship for this role compare to H-1B?
TN is generally faster and more predictable for Asset Protection Specialists than H-1B. There is no annual lottery for Canadian citizens, no cap waiting period, and Canadian applicants can receive TN status at a port of entry on the same day. H-1B requires April registration, a random selection, and at minimum a six-month wait. For Mexican nationals, TN still requires a consulate appointment but avoids the lottery entirely.
What documents does my employer need to sponsor my TN visa?
Your employer prepares a detailed support letter describing your job duties, your qualifying USMCA occupational category, your salary, and your anticipated period of employment. For Canadian applicants, you present this letter directly at the U.S. port of entry, where USCIS adjudicates your TN status on the spot. For Mexican nationals, the employer's support letter accompanies your application at a U.S. consulate. The TN process does not require any Department of Labor filings or certifications, making it simpler than visa categories like H-1B.
How do I find Asset Protection Specialist jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter for Asset Protection Specialist roles where employers have a documented history of sponsoring TN or work visa holders, which removes the guesswork of cold applications. Most general job boards don't flag sponsorship willingness at the employer level, so you end up applying to roles where the employer isn't prepared to file.
Can I switch Asset Protection Specialist employers on a TN visa?
Yes, but your TN status is tied to a specific employer. If you change jobs, your new employer must support a fresh TN application before you begin working. Canadian citizens can handle this at a port of entry or through USCIS. Mexican nationals will need a new consulate appointment. You cannot simply transfer your existing TN to the new employer the way some other visa categories allow portability.
