Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Telemetry RN
Verify your NCLEX and state license first
TN classification for nurses requires a valid U.S. state RN license, not just your Canadian or Mexican credential. Confirm your NCLEX-RN pass status and that your state license is active before approaching any employer about sponsorship.
Target hospitals with telemetry units directly
Focus your search on acute care hospitals that operate dedicated telemetry or step-down units. These facilities have recurring hiring needs for monitored beds and are far more practiced at TN sponsorship paperwork than outpatient clinics or long-term care settings.
Ask employers about Canadian border processing
Canadian citizens can obtain TN status directly at a U.S. port of entry the same day, without consular processing. Confirm with your prospective employer that their offer letter and support documentation are ready before you make that trip to the border.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Searching for TN-sponsoring telemetry roles manually is slow and unreliable. Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa sponsorship type so you can focus on hospitals already set up to file TN paperwork for RNs.
Prepare a credential evaluation for Mexican nurses
Mexican-trained nurses typically need a foreign credential evaluation alongside their CGFNS certificate or equivalent. Having this evaluation completed and ready reduces back-and-forth with employers reviewing your TN eligibility documentation.
Clarify the TN extension timeline with your employer
TN status is granted in three-year increments with no statutory limit on renewals. Before accepting an offer, confirm your employer has an internal process for filing TN extensions well ahead of your expiration date, not after.

Find Telemetry RN JobsTelemetry RN TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Telemetry RN role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes. Telemetry RN positions qualify under the USMCA Nurse category, provided you hold a valid U.S. state RN license and a qualifying baccalaureate or licenciatura degree in nursing. The job offer must be for professional nursing work, which telemetry monitoring and cardiac care clearly satisfy. Your employer documents the role in a support letter, and USCIS or a CBP officer at the border reviews your package.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Telemetry RN roles?
TN is significantly more practical for most telemetry nurses. There is no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and no multi-month wait for approval. Canadians can receive TN status at a port of entry the same day. H-1B requires employer petition, USCIS adjudication, and for cap-subject cases, selection in a randomized lottery. For nurses, TN removes most of that uncertainty.
Can I switch telemetry employers while on TN status?
You can change employers, but TN status is employer-specific. You cannot start work with a new hospital until new TN authorization is obtained, either through a new port-of-entry application or a USCIS change of employer petition. Canadians typically handle this at the border, while Mexican TN holders must go through consular processing at a U.S. embassy or consulate in Mexico.
Where can I find Telemetry RN jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most generic job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type, which wastes time on listings where employers may not be experienced with work visa processes. Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you find Telemetry RN roles at employers with recent visa filings, so you're not starting cold with every application. These employers have demonstrated experience with visa sponsorship generally, making them more likely to support your TN visa application through the required support letter and port-of-entry (or consulate, if applicable) process.
What documents does my employer need to sponsor my TN visa as a Telemetry RN?
Your employer prepares a support letter confirming the job title, duties, your qualifications, and that the role is temporary in nature. You bring that letter along with your U.S. state RN license, your degree credential, and valid Canadian or Mexican passport. For Mexican citizens, the employer must also obtain USCIS approval before you can present at a consulate, adding several weeks to the timeline.
