NYS Certified Special Education Teacher
SEEKING SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER FOR 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
The Hellenic Classical Charter Schools are public charter schools located in Brooklyn (HCCS-PS) and Staten Island (HCCS-SI). HCCS provides a classics based education in the study of humanities and literature for students in Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grades.

The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for:
- Providing research-based instruction to meet the instructional goals outlined within each student’s IEP.
- Developing annual Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for students.
- Assessing student progress and determine the need for adjustments to individualized instruction.
- Incorporating various teaching methods to support students in meeting their IEP goals.
- Working cooperatively with Dean of Special Education, Instructional Special Education Coach, learning specialists, and others in developing instructional goals and strategies.
- Creating a positive learning environment with emphasis on individualized instruction, including accommodations and modifications where appropriate.
- Completing all record keeping of students’ progress in a timely manner.
- Complying with School Board and Hellenic Classical Charter School policies, as outlined in the charter.
- Being in compliance with all state/federal rules and regulations.
- Completing all district and state reporting requirements in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related degree within the field of Education
- NYS Special Education Teaching License or related teaching license within the field of Education
- Fingerprint clearance

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
