Travel Registered Nurse Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a travel registered nurse in Arkansas?
You become a travel registered nurse in Arkansas by holding an active RN license issued or recognized by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing, which you obtain after passing the NCLEX-RN exam. Arkansas participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact, so nurses licensed in other compact states can work in Arkansas without a separate state license. Most travel assignments additionally require at least one year of recent acute care experience in your specialty before a facility will accept your assignment.
How much do travel registered nurses make in Arkansas?
Travel registered nurses in Arkansas earn a median of about $78,940 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,780 for the lowest 10% to over $103,660 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire travel registered nurses in Arkansas?
Companies currently hiring travel registered nurses in Arkansas include Voyage Health, Milan Laser Hair Removal, and American Traveler, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Arkansas's regional hospital systems and critical access facilities rely heavily on travel staffing to cover specialty units and rural care gaps across the state.
Which Arkansas cities have the most travel registered nurse jobs?
The cities with the most travel registered nurse openings in Arkansas are Bentonville, Little Rock, and Springdale. Little Rock drives the largest share of demand as the state's primary medical hub, home to major systems including Baptist Health and Arkansas Children's Hospital, while Fort Smith and Fayetteville generate consistent openings through their own regional medical centers serving large surrounding populations.
How can I get hired as a travel registered nurse in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing a new graduate residency program at a large Arkansas hospital system such as Baptist Health or Arkansas Children's Hospital, which run structured transition-to-practice programs that build the clinical hours most travel agencies require. From there, med-surg or stepdown units are the typical launch point before moving into higher-acuity travel assignments. Holding an active Arkansas compact RN license and adding a specialty certification in your unit type strengthens your application considerably once you have enough hours to qualify.
