Mid Level User Experience UX Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level user experience ux job?
Position your portfolio around projects you owned rather than contributed to, showing your process from research through final delivery. Highlight moments where your decisions shaped the product direction, not just your execution of someone else's brief. Recruiters at this level want evidence of independent judgment, collaboration with cross-functional partners, and measurable impact on user outcomes, so frame every case study around those three things.
Which companies hire mid level user experience uxs?
Companies hiring mid level user experience uxs right now include Google, Amazon, and Providence, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of large product-led companies building out dedicated design teams and mid-size organizations looking for designers who can work with significant autonomy.
Are there remote mid level user experience ux jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are widely available at this experience level. About 33% of mid level user experience ux openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly distributed design work has become across the industry. Searching by location flexibility on Migrate Mate lets you narrow to the work arrangement that fits your situation.
How do I move up to a mid level user experience ux role?
The move from entry level to mid level is built on depth and demonstrated ownership over time. As you accumulate projects, focus on leading full design cycles independently, not just completing assigned tasks. Seek out opportunities to define the problem, not just solve one handed to you. Consistent delivery, measurable impact on user behavior or business outcomes, and a portfolio that tells a clear story of growing responsibility are what distinguish a mid level candidate from a junior one.
Which industries hire the most mid level user experience uxs?
