About Melleka Marketing
Melleka Marketing is a full-service marketing agency helping businesses grow through social media, digital advertising, content creation, web design, SEO, and more.
This is a hands-on creative role for someone who is not only highly organized, but also has strong video editing and graphic design skills. We want someone who knows how to turn raw footage and ideas into dynamic, entertaining, scroll-stopping content — not just basic cuts and transitions.
You'll be responsible for taking content from idea to creation to scheduled post, including video editing, graphics, carousels, story content, captions, and scheduling.
This is a full-time, in-person position. Please apply only if you are able to reliably commute to our office Monday through Friday.
What You'll Do
- Manage social media content for approximately 20 client accounts
- Create and schedule approximately 3 posts per week, per client across LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, & Facebook (approximately 60 posts per week total)
- Create short-form videos, long-form YouTube videos, static graphics, carousels, story posts, and other social media content
- Edit raw video footage into highly engaging, dynamic, and entertaining videos designed to hold attention
- Incorporate advanced editing elements such as 3D text overlays, motion graphics, animated captions, sound effects, music, transitions, zooms, visual effects, B-roll, and other attention-grabbing elements
- Design static posts, story graphics, multi-slide carousels, promotional graphics, and branded social media content
- Use GoHighLevel to schedule and organize client social media posts
- Maintain organized content calendars and ensure posts are created, approved, and scheduled on time
- Manage multiple client deadlines, revisions, and content needs simultaneously
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is both highly creative and extremely organized. Managing approximately 20 clients requires the ability to work efficiently, stay ahead of deadlines, and quickly switch between different brands, industries, and creative styles.
Video editing is a major part of this position. We are specifically looking for someone who can create content that feels modern, fast-paced, polished, and entertaining.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Previous social media management or content creation experience
- Strong short-form and long-form video editing skills
- A portfolio demonstrating dynamic, engaging video editing — not just basic cuts and captions
- Experience creating Instagram Reels, TikToks, and other vertical video content
- Strong graphic design skills with the ability to create static posts, carousels, stories, and other branded social graphics
- Ability to manage a high volume of content and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience with GoHighLevel is a plus
- Experience with tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar editing/design software
How to Apply

Video Editor Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a video editor in California?
Video editing in California requires no state-issued license or certification, so the path focuses on education and portfolio building. Most employers prefer candidates with a degree or certificate in film production, digital media, or a related field from a California institution such as UCLA, USC, or a California Community College. Building a strong demo reel and gaining hands-on experience through internships at production companies or studios is the most direct route to landing your first role.
How much do video editors make in California?
Video editors in California earn a median of about $88,490 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $42,020 for the lowest 10% to over $169,810 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire video editors in California?
Employers hiring video editors in California right now include Brandtailers, AEG Worldwide, and Nathan Doan Productions, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. California's concentration of entertainment studios, streaming platforms, and advertising agencies means steady demand from both large production houses and independent creative shops.
Which California cities have the most video editor jobs?
Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Torrance have the most video editor openings in California. Los Angeles dominates because of its dense concentration of film studios, streaming companies, and advertising agencies, while San Francisco draws demand from tech firms and digital content teams, and San Diego's growing media and gaming sectors contribute a meaningful share of listings.
Are there remote video editor jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 55% of video editor openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well post-production work translates to distributed teams. Roles focused on digital content, social media editing, and branded video tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while on-set or live-production positions typically require an in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a video editor in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing an assistant editor or post-production coordinator role, which large California studios and streaming companies use to train emerging talent. Productions connected to major Los Angeles studio lots and advertising agencies frequently bring on junior editors for social or digital content work. A concise demo reel showing personal projects, student films, or freelance cuts is the credential that moves a candidate forward when a degree or formal experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to video editor jobs in California?
You can find and apply to video editor jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings across entertainment, advertising, streaming, and digital media. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly to each one.
