The Assistant Video Editor will support our post-production team by organizing footage, creating selects and rough cuts, and prepping timelines for final delivery. You will work closely with lead editors and social media managers to maintain a seamless post-production workflow. This role is highly collaborative and requires a sharp eye for pacing, beauty aesthetics, and shifting digital trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Footage and Asset Management: Ingest, sync, and organize raw footage, synchronize audio, generate proxies, and manage post-production assets across our storage systems.
- Assembly and Rough Cuts: Build initial sequences, rough cuts, and assembly edits for various marketing campaigns, product launches, and social media channels.
- Multi-Platform Formatting: Reformat and optimize master edits for various platform specifications, including TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, and digital ads.
- Project Delivery Prep: Prepare final project files, clean timelines, organize assets, and export deliverables for color grading, sound design, and localization.
- Collaboration: Work alongside creative directors and lead editors to apply feedback systematically and maintain a consistent brand aesthetic.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of hands-on video editing or post-production experience (internships and freelance work welcome)
- Software Mastery: Deep working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, including project organization, proxy workflows, and efficient shortcut-driven editing.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of video codecs, file formats, frame rates, aspect ratios, and post-production workflows.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills with project directories, naming conventions, and version control.
- Aesthetic Sensitivity: A strong visual eye for color, makeup application, skin tones, and overall beauty trends.
- Time Management: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
