In this role, you will be responsible for servicing and programming fire alarm systems. What You’ll Do

- Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
- Assist in the testing, programming and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems.
- Assist in the servicing of fire alarm and life safety systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programming of Fire Alarm Systems, schematics and operational/product manuals.
- Execute all work in accordance with local and national codes, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate and work with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company.
- Keep up to date and informed on all company policies.
- Present a professional image of Convergint Technologies at all times in appearance and behavior.
What You’ll Need
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
- Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
- Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.

Requirements
Education: High School/GED, trade school, or equivalent experience
Preferred Experience: (but not required): 1+ of hands-on experience in the commercial/industrial/low voltage/electrical industry.
- 1+ years as a fire alarm service technician with experience in programming fire alarm systems or similar complexity.
- NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm
- Associates degree in Electronic technology, Instrumentation
