Which companies sponsor visas for civil project managers in Arizona?
Large engineering and construction firms with established Arizona offices are the most consistent sponsors. AECOM, Jacobs, WSP, Kimley-Horn, and Stantec have all filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for civil project management roles in the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas. Public agencies occasionally hire through these firms as prime contractors, making them a practical starting point for candidates seeking sponsorship.
Which visa types are most common for civil project manager roles in Arizona?
The H-1B is the most common visa for civil project managers in Arizona, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA engineer category, which does not require lottery selection and can be processed at the border or a port of entry.
Which cities in Arizona have the most civil project manager sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix and its surrounding municipalities, including Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale, and Chandler, account for the largest share of civil project manager openings in Arizona. Tucson is a secondary hub, supported by University of Arizona infrastructure projects and regional transportation work. Flagstaff sees occasional openings tied to state highway and utilities projects, though volume there is considerably lower than in Maricopa County.
How to find civil project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search civil project manager roles in Arizona without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces openings from engineering firms and contractors across Phoenix, Tucson, and beyond. Filtering by state and role title on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to manually researching which employers have a sponsorship history.
Are there any Arizona-specific factors that affect civil project manager visa sponsorship?
Arizona's ongoing water infrastructure investment, driven by Colorado River management agreements and the state's CAP canal system, has increased demand for civil project managers with water resources experience. The Arizona Department of Transportation's freeway expansion programs also sustain consistent contractor hiring. Employers sponsoring H-1B workers must pay the prevailing wage for the role and location, which is determined by the Department of Labor and applied at the county level across Arizona.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored civil project manager jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
