Which companies sponsor visas for civil project managers in Georgia?
Engineering and infrastructure firms with significant Georgia operations are among the most active sponsors. Companies like Jacobs, AECOM, Stantec, WSP, and Kimley-Horn have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for civil project management roles. GDOT and large construction management firms also hire internationally, particularly for transportation and water infrastructure projects concentrated around the Atlanta metro.
Which visa types are most common for civil project manager roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa for civil project managers in Georgia, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA's engineer category. Experienced managers with multinational firm backgrounds sometimes pursue L-1A intracompany transfer visas.
Which cities in Georgia have the most civil project manager sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the large majority of civil project manager sponsorship activity in Georgia, driven by MARTA expansions, highway programs, and large commercial development. Savannah is a growing secondary market, fueled by port infrastructure investment and industrial site development. Augusta and Columbus also see hiring tied to military installation projects at Fort Eisenhower and Fort Moore respectively.
How to find civil project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate aggregates civil project manager roles in Georgia from employers with documented H-1B sponsorship activity, letting you filter specifically for visa-sponsoring companies rather than applying broadly and discovering sponsorship limitations late in the process. Searching civil project manager roles on Migrate Mate filtered to Georgia surfaces firms like AECOM, Jacobs, and Stantec that have sponsored these roles in the state before.
Are there state-specific factors that affect civil project manager visa sponsorship in Georgia?
Georgia's sustained infrastructure investment, including the Northwest Corridor and I-285/SR 400 interchange programs, creates consistent demand for experienced project managers, which supports employer willingness to sponsor. Georgia Tech produces a strong domestic engineering pipeline, so international candidates tend to be most competitive when they bring specialized expertise in transportation systems, water resources, or program management on large-scale projects.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored civil project manager jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
