The Finance Technology AI Enablement team helps the business strategize, evaluate, define, and prioritize complex enterprise initiatives — designing and building them into AI-enabled, transformative solutions. This role requires building strong relationships with business stakeholders and domain-specific IT application development teams, working collaboratively to advance AI-driven transformation and deliver measurable results. You will oversee and execute multiple concurrent AI initiatives, delivering value across various business domains in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team focused on AI/ML and GenAI solution delivery.
- Set strategic technical direction for the AI Enablement team, advocating for engineering best practices, scalable architecture, and responsible AI development.
- Partner with business leaders and domain-specific IT teams to translate business requirements into actionable technical roadmaps and solutions.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent AI initiatives, from ideation through production deployment and adoption.
- Drive the design and development of AI/ML and GenAI solutions.
- Champion the use of low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate) and Claude Skills alongside traditional full-stack development to accelerate solution delivery.
- Establish and enforce DevOps, CI/CD, and data governance practices to ensure reliable, secure, and compliant delivery.
- Operate within a regulated enterprise environment, ensuring solutions align with formal architecture, security, privacy, audit, and enterprise governance standards.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT partners on AI adoption strategy, use case evaluation, and solutioning.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, fostering collaboration between engineering, business, and governance stakeholders.
- Report on program progress, risks, and value delivered to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of people management experience, including building, leading, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in cloud and distributed environments using modern technology stacks.
- Demonstrated experience building AI/ML solutions, including exposure to GPT/Gemini/Claude LLM models, Vertex AI, RAG, GenAI, agentic AI workflows and orchestration.
- Proficiency in Python and full-stack development, including designing and building APIs.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
- Experience working with vector databases in support of AI/ML and GenAI solutions.
- Experience with major cloud AI/ML platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock).
- Strong proficiency in SQL, data analytics, and automation.
- Proven experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with business leaders and translate business requirements into actionable technical plans.
- Experience operating within a regulated enterprise environment, including familiarity with formal architecture, security, privacy, audit, and governance processes.
- Strong strategic thinking and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within Finance or a similar regulated financial services function.
- Prior experience establishing or scaling an AI Enablement, AI Center of Excellence, or similar function.
- Experience with agentic AI frameworks and orchestration tools.
- Experience building and scaling low-code/no-code AI solutions (Copilot Studio agents, Power Automate flows, Claude Skills) as an enablement pattern for business and IT partners.
- Experience designing or implementing semantic context layer using vector database and/or knowledge graph architectures to support GenAI and RAG solutions.
- Familiarity with enterprise AI and Data governance, and responsible AI frameworks.
- Experience presenting to and influencing executive-level stakeholders.

Which companies sponsor visas for senior software engineers in Arizona?
Intel, PayPal, GoDaddy, Microchip Technology, and Honeywell are among the larger Arizona employers with consistent H-1B visa sponsorship histories for senior software engineering roles. Defense contractors in the Phoenix and Tucson areas, including Raytheon and General Dynamics, also file regularly. Sponsorship patterns are publicly visible through Department of Labor LCA disclosure data, which lists certified petitions by employer and job title.
Which visa types are most common for senior software engineering roles in Arizona?
The H-1B is the most common visa for senior software engineers in Arizona, given that the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Candidates already holding an L-1A or L-1B through a multinational employer may transfer to an Arizona office without entering the H-1B lottery. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no annual lottery and is frequently used in Arizona's tech sector.
Which cities in Arizona have the most senior software engineering sponsorship jobs?
The Phoenix metro area, including Tempe, Scottsdale, and Chandler, accounts for the large majority of senior software engineering sponsorship activity in Arizona. Intel's Chandler campus alone generates significant annual LCA filings. Tucson hosts a smaller but active cluster driven by defense, aerospace, and University of Arizona research spinoffs. Gilbert and Mesa are growing as mid-size tech employers expand east of Phoenix.
How to find senior software engineering visa sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse senior software engineering roles in Arizona without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform surfaces openings from employers with documented H-1B and E-3 sponsorship histories, which is particularly useful at the senior level where role titles and sponsorship willingness vary significantly across companies.
Are there state-specific considerations for senior software engineers pursuing sponsorship in Arizona?
Arizona's concentration in semiconductor manufacturing means some senior engineering roles involve export-controlled technology, which can extend sponsorship timelines due to additional licensing reviews under ITAR or EAR regulations. Arizona State University and the University of Arizona also produce engineering graduates who enter the local talent pool, which influences how employers frame sponsorship decisions at the senior level relative to entry-level hiring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored senior software engineering jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
