Your Role at Sephora:
Ready for a career glow up? As Principal Product Manager – GenAI, you'll be leading the evolution of our AI-powered customer and advisor experiences. The work you do will impact beauty, as you define and execute the product vision for conversational and generative AI experiences that enhance discovery, personalization, and decision-making for clients and internal teams. You'll be part of a team that's united in beauty, supported by those who are equally passionate about bringing cutting-edge technology to transform the beauty experience.
What You'll Do:

- Define Product Vision & Roadmap. Translate GenAI capabilities into a clear, actionable product strategy and roadmap, identifying where generative and agentic solutions can meaningfully improve discovery, decision-making, and conversion while ensuring consistency and quality across channels.
- Lead AI Beauty Chat Evolution. Own and influence features that impact both AI Beauty Chat and Shop Path KPIs, clearly defining success metrics across the journey and articulating why each GenAI-driven initiative is being built and how it integrates into the broader ecosystem.
- Partner with Engineering & Architecture. Work closely with Engineering and Enterprise Architecture to evaluate technical approaches, guide implementation decisions, and advise business partners on GenAI feasibility, trade-offs, and prioritization.
- Drive Measurable Results. Ensure successful execution of initiatives in the GenAI domain supporting Client Experience, leveraging rigorous testing and experimentation to measure success against key KPIs and validate impact on conversion and engagement.
- Enable Enterprise GenAI Adoption. Educate and enable enterprise partners and teams on how to effectively leverage AI and GenAI tools, serving as a trusted advisor and thought partner on best practices for using AI responsibly and efficiently.
What You'll Bring:
- Deep GenAI Product Expertise. 8+ years of product management experience with a successful history of launching highly effective products for large, transactional websites and deep GenAI and applied AI product experience, with a demonstrated track record improving conversational experiences through rapid experimentation, evaluation rigor, and measurable impact on engagement and business outcomes.
- Technical Fluency in AI. Hands-on fluency with modern AI building patterns, including rapid prototyping, agent design and orchestration (tool calling, memory, guardrails, behavioral contracts), and the ability to partner closely with Engineering and Architecture to ship scalable, production-grade agentic solutions.
- Strategic & Data-Driven Mindset. Strong judgment and expertise to prioritize high-impact opportunities, with experience in data-informed decision making and conducting and interpreting qualitative and quantitative user research to drive product decisions.
- Stakeholder Management Excellence. Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across business, engineering, UX, and architecture teams, effectively managing expectations and communicating risks and mitigation plans.
- Self-Sufficient Execution. Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines while maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and vendor partners, operating effectively without close supervision.
- Educational Foundation. Bachelor's Degree required, with experience using roadmap tools such as JIRA to effectively define and communicate product roadmaps.

Which companies sponsor visas for principals in California?
Large technology employers account for the majority of principal-level visa sponsorships in California. Companies such as Google, Apple, Meta, Amazon, Salesforce, Adobe, and Intuit have consistent H-1B filing histories for senior individual contributor and principal roles. Semiconductor and biotech firms concentrated in Silicon Valley and San Diego, including Qualcomm and Illumina, also sponsor at this level with regularity.
Which visa types are most common for principal roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for principal roles in California, as these positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific specialty field. Candidates with extraordinary ability in their domain may also qualify for the O-1A. Senior professionals transferring within a multinational organization may be eligible for the L-1A or L-1B, depending on whether the role is managerial or involves specialized knowledge.
Which cities in California have the most principal sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area, including San Jose, Sunnyvale, and Mountain View, concentrates the highest volume of principal-level visa sponsorship activity in California, driven by its technology sector density. Los Angeles follows, with sponsorship activity spread across entertainment technology, fintech, and aerospace. San Diego is a notable hub for principal roles in biotech, defense technology, and semiconductor companies.
How to find principal visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship employment in the United States. You can filter directly for principal roles in California to see verified sponsorship-eligible openings from employers with active H-1B or other visa filing histories. Migrate Mate surfaces jobs from companies that have demonstrated willingness to sponsor, helping you focus your search on realistic opportunities rather than sifting through postings that don't support international candidates.
Are there state-specific considerations for principal visa sponsorship roles in California?
California's prevailing wage requirements under Department of Labor rules apply to H-1B petitions, and principal-level roles in high-cost metros like San Francisco and San Jose typically fall into the upper wage tiers. California also enforces strict employee classification laws, which can affect how sponsoring employers structure employment agreements. Candidates should be aware that employer legal and HR teams in California are generally experienced with sponsorship processes given the state's high volume of international hires.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored principal jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
