Which companies sponsor visas for product development managers in California?
Apple, Google, Meta, Qualcomm, Broadcom, and Genentech are among the California employers with consistent H-1B visa sponsorship records for product development manager roles. Medical device companies like Edwards Lifesciences and Intuitive Surgical also sponsor in this category, particularly for roles bridging engineering and commercialization. Sponsorship patterns are publicly visible through Department of Labor LCA disclosure data.
Which visa types are most common for product development manager roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product development managers in California, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, product design, or a related technical field. Candidates already holding L-1A or L-1B status through multinational employers occasionally transfer into product development manager roles. Those with extraordinary ability may also qualify for the O-1A category.
Which cities in California have the most product development manager sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area, including San Jose, Sunnyvale, and Cupertino, concentrates the largest share of product development manager sponsorship roles, largely due to the density of consumer electronics and enterprise software companies. Los Angeles has a growing presence tied to aerospace, entertainment technology, and e-commerce. San Diego is a notable hub for wireless technology and biomedical product development roles.
How to find product development manager visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for product development manager roles in California without sifting through positions that don't sponsor. You can narrow results by location, so Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego roles are easy to browse separately. Migrate Mate focuses exclusively on international candidates, so sponsorship context is built into every listing.
Are there state-specific considerations for product development manager sponsorship in California?
California employers filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications must pay at least the prevailing wage for the specific occupation and metropolitan area, which varies between the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and other California metros. California's large public university system, including UC Berkeley and UCLA, also creates a significant pipeline of international graduates competing for these roles, which shapes how employers approach sponsorship at this level.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product development manager jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
